Quote: ok thank you all a lot...you can order anything you like for inroom breakfast?
or is there a limit like 25 pound per person?
there was no limit for me nobody told me anything but again we didn't ask anything outrageous.. just a normal breakfast for 2: juice, tea, 1 eggs, 1 toast, some fruit .

Checked in last night and was offered 548. Based on my last stay I asked for another room which wasn't a problem but did seem to take a long time to achieve.

Decided to eat in Catch - Fruits de Mer for two - the shellfish was appalling - langoustine with grey/black flesh and crayfish that had dry flesh. Service also very lacklustre. However, breakfast in Eastway was superb as usual.

I just completed my stay at the Andaz, and I have to say that I was very pleased with the hotel. I'll add some photos at the bottom.

From LHR, I took the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station, where I then caught the tube to Liverpool St Station. Unfortunately, they were doing rail maintenance, so I had to take an extra train..

Upon arrival at the Andaz, I really enjoyed the layout of the lobby. It had some interesting mood lighting, which made me feel nice after my flight over in Y! Due to the fact that I was there @ 12pm, I had to wait around until the room was ready at 3pm. Luckily, Pizza Express was right around the corner, allowing me to get a much needed meal.

They were not ready @ 2pm, so I spent some time in the business center catching up on email, FT, checking in for my return flight, etc.. They have two computers and free color laser printing ^

The room was finally ready, so I got my room access card. At the Andaz, they do not use a mag stripe card for access. Doors to the guest rooms, business center, and the gym use a proxy card. When you enter the room, you are supposed to put your card inside a small box next to the door, and it will turn on the lights for you. When you leave the room, you grab the card and the lights will automatically turn off..

Bathroom was nice, and also included an electric tower warmer. Water pressure was excellent, and felt good to have a shower after the long flight over. The toilet uses a vacuum based system, so it sounds like the lav on an A320 flushing.. (much more spacious than an aircraft lav, though )

Bose iPod sound system was included in the room, and sounded great with my iPhone. WIFI was pretty decent, and allowed me to upload my photos to my smugmug. Desk area was very nice. We also had a flat panel tv mounted to the wall. TV offerings were a bit dull, but I still found some interesting things to watch (Harry Potter , Cops, The UK Version )

Our room came with two twin/double beds, with excellent pillows and mattresses. I fell asleep almost immediately, and felt refreshed, even though I only got two hours of sleep..

As far as restaurants, the Andaz offers many options. I chose the Miyako sushi place. They had pretty fresh sushi, and a nice atmosphere. I had a spicy tuna roll, and the chicken teriyaki..

On the way back to LHR, we used the hotel car service. They used a Jaguar XJ, and with three of us splitting the car, we felt as though the price was worth it. The driver was excellent, and took us on a little tour of London on the way to LHR.

Overall, I'd give the hotel an 8/10. It would have been nice if the room was available when I arrived, but everything else was just perfect.. Looking forward to staying here again^

Hmm...I did a reservation over the phone on the Diamond line for this hotel for March and told the lady we would be 3 adults. She made it for 1 adult anyway and stated since i used a suite upgrade it would be no problem. I am highly concerned upon arrival I will get charged another $100 a night or so for the extra people. Am I right to be concerned?

In reviewing your comments my personal advice would be to get a name and request it in writing when one gets into what I call gray areas that are somewhat open ended. Especially when dealing with airlines.

As fantastic a program that Hyatt has become it never fails to amaze me how it does nothing to guarantee a late check out for its top tier customers leaving it to the hotels to do whatever they feel like. It affects my business in a number of markets especially when I have to work the last morning.
As for the double and triple occupancy issue it appears to be another area of improvement for the good Hyatt folks to consider. My guess is the international business culture is more sensitive to generosity and value as they (to be polite) typically act frugally with perks and amenities regardless of one’s loyalty or status. There are some great examples of this

No better example than the Regency Club access for Diamonds as an international issue with hotels that don't want to cooperate with the program/hotel companies and their frequent guests. It’s an official tug of war.Have a great stay!

Cheers

The section of my TR for the Andaz Liverpool Street is now completed.
My stay was certainly not the greatest!

Would the email address of the Guest Services Manager be of any assistance?

First time at Andaz Liverpool St. I got a great rate at hyatt.com 110GBP for a single, got upgraded to King room is pretty spacious nothing special but probably classed as a couple of room upgrades since I did notice single, queen, king all had different prices when I booked online. I really liked the Hotel, staff very friendly at check-in went out of their way to help, just got off a 10hr TATL and the check-in guy walked me to the room and gave me the full run down of the room didn't have the heart to tell him I needed to run to get to a meeting and I know how to turn on a TV :-) Anyway Different vibe from Churchill but in a positive way and like the choice of bars and restaurants that you don't get at the Churchill. Didn't make the drinks/appetizers so not sure how that compares to lounge at the Churchill. At the end of the day from a business POV location not quite as convenient for me given where I need to go but would definetly come back with Mrs CMANC for a weekend stopover in London.

Andaz Liverpool Street London - a concept by Hyatt

4 Reviews | 100% Recommended

Stayed 2 nights at the Andaz Liverpool Street last week. I normally stay at the Sheraton Park Tower, Hoxton Hotel or Hyatt - The Churchill. I used a 6,000 point upgrade for an Andaz Suite and asked my PL agent to request an Andaz Large Suite.

Room

Had an early arrival of 11AM, which was granted. The front desk agent was very pleasant, and apologised that they couldn't grant a Large Suite, however told me they had arranged their best Andaz Suite - Room 302. Again he offered me his personal card which I believe is part of their Diamond recognition. The hotel, like all Andaz's was modern, sleek and vibrant without the attitude that seems to have enveloped the W Brand. Upon entering the room I was amazed at how large it was, and included a bathtub which is much appreciated after traveling several continents.

Dining

Was delivered a bottle of wine every night, which may have to do with the suite booking. Unlike other Hyatt properties, the Andaz invited you to request a White wine if Red is not your preference. Diamond amenity appeared to be Corn chips with Guacamole and Salsa.

I was extremely jetlagged, and slept until the afternoon. I absolutely adore the Andaz brand specific benefit of honouring the free breakfast Diamond benefit through room service, available 24 hours a day. They were also happy to restock the mini bar as many times as required (I found myself very, very thirsty and requested more and more still water.)

Overall

Overall a very pleasant stay, and will be my chosen property in London from now on.

Stayed one night at Andaz with some problems (although not the hotel's fault) but a great resolution.

We had arranged a transfer from Paddington to the hotel via Euston (to pick up my parents). I had requested a Jaguar to arrive at 16:30 to meet our train. On arrival at Paddington, there was no-one with a board so we went out to the taxi rank to check there. No car there either. I phoned the hotel who said there had been road works and the driver had had to park further away than usual (I also received an email to this effect at 16:37). We told the hotel where we were and were advised the car would pick us up shortly from there. At 16:55 (we were supposed to pick up my parents at Euston at 16:45), there was still no sign of the car, so I phoned the hotel again. I was pretty annoyed by this time - there is little in point in prebooking a car if it doesn't come at the right time - but whilst on the phone a Mercedes turned up. I wasn't over pleased that the car was a Merc not a Jag, but it didn't actually matter.

I don't believe the problems with the transfer were the fault of the hotel but the fault of the driver. It is difficult to know what traffic will be like in London, but as a professional driver, it is your job to allow enough time and know where road works are in advance.

The hotel however really did their best to make up for this. On arrival, the 2 rooms I had booked at been upgraded (I booked 2 queens, which were upgraded to a King and Large King). In the large King there was a note apologising for the problems with the transfer and saying we wouldn't have to pay for it. This was a better solution that I would have proposed so I was really happy with that. I hope the hotel didn't pay full price to the company providing the transfer.

Around 15 minutes after check-in, I had a phone call apologising again and offering free drinks in the champagne bar. This was really going above what was needed and made me feel great about the hotel.

Then at checkout the next morning, the duty manager apologised in person (it was getting a bit embarrasing by this time really) and there were no charges except room rate. (I had ordered flowers and these were not on the bill).

Excluding the transfer part:
Positives:
both rooms upgraded
breakfast for 2 people per room included (even though only one diamond member)
hotel got flowers from Tesco for me, only charging a 10% charge as I didn't want to pay florist prices
great customer service in general
good rate for London (133 + VAT)

Negative:
despite requesting in advance, we had feather pillows not foam in the room. Maybe the other room got foam, but I had said I wanted foam pillows in the diamond member's room, and flowers in our guest's room so something went wrong there.

Isn't this standard? Or perhaps it's just the wine that's complimentary. Or maybe only at other Andazes.
