I recently had a "legitimate" overlapping stay -- a 5 night stay in one city with the last night overlapping with a one night a short flight away. (I had to go to a meeting which required me stay overnight and didn't want to check out from my first hotel.)
Now that HGP is back online it's showing credit for both, and that I'm at 50 nights. This is great, as I was planning a mattress run this week to make up for being one short.
The question is, should I be concerned that Hyatt may claw back that last night as they work the bugs out of their software upgrade? I'd rather not do a MR "just in case" but I don't want to end up one night short of Diamond for next year.

Did I make a mistake during my 1st mattress run? Do you need to always check out on the next day to earn a stay credit?

I'll be making a 2 month stay or so for business at a hyatt. All nights booked under 1 reservation.
There may be a weekend or two during those two months where I may travel else where and book a hotel for a night. Will I get credit for the one off one night stay?
The one off will probably credit since I wouldn't have checked out of my extended stay reservation. What will happen to the extended stay reservation when I check out...will that only partially post?
Am I better off booking a non-Hyatt for the weekend excursion?

Under normal circumstances, you will not get credit for 2 stays for a single night unless you call customer service and show them that the stays are in different time zones.
You could ask the extended stay hotel to check you out for the nights you'll be missing or just stay at some other chain for the one night stay(s) if you don't want to chance it.
