Problems with hyatt.com rate
As you all know, I NEVER use Priceline and pretty much ALWAYS use the hyatt.com rate.
For the past few weeks, I have been having a problem. Anyone experience this? Please forgive me since I have not had any time (or a computer) to be on in a while, if this has already been discussed...
Anyhow, I charge (Mastercard) hyatt.com rate. Then I receive NO credit, because it is an internet rate and is now deemed ineligible.
This is a direct quote from the Diamond line.
The individual hotels can only tell that you made the reservation over the internet. Since it was made OVER the internet, it is instantly considered ineligible. In order to get credit, you must call the Diamond line and have them research and see that it is in fact a hyatt.com rate and is eligible.
Has this happened to anyone besides me???

YES - to every single Hyatt.com reservation I had for my Nov & Dec mattress run.
I was told essentially the same thing - they can't tell that it was paid by mastercard so we have to call to get the FFN credit.
It was a bit of a pain (I had a lot of stays), but I started bunching up a few at a time & called them in.
It didn't take very long. Most times the rep on the phone just fixed it without calling the hotel.

This has been happening to all my non changeable Hyatt.com booking for the past year and beyond.
I never ever get the room credited and have stopped using the prepaid rate as yes they ahve no idea it is not a rate from another hotel.
Karen can you please pass this on as it is a real pain as I book lots of people on the net!

I always get the room credited... Only the Mastercard notation is missing for the FFN promo.

Happened to me.....on an AAA rate booked over the internet of nearly $300.....was told by the property REPEATEDLY it was too "low" and cannot be given credit....I had to call Diamond Line (and given the run around, saying that only INDIVIDUAL hotel can determine whether a rate is eligible...TOTAL BS!!!!)...

There we go again.......WHAT IS THIS SH*T WITH GP.....HOW CAN IT BE POSSIBLE THAT A SINGLE PROPERTY BE GIVEN THE RIGHT TO DENY A RATE????? I SUGGEST HYATT GP SORT THIS NONSENSE OUT.....I HAD OVER 150 NIGHTS WITH HYATT LAST YEAR....IT'S STILL EARLY IN THE YEAR, SO IF THIS WERE NOT RECTIFIED, I WILL ONLY STAY THE MINIMUM 25 STAYS (AT CHEAPEST PROPERTIES TOO, BETTER YET, USE PRICELINE TO RETAIN MY STUPID DIAMOND STATUS)......
I would even be frank and open, and willing to post all my correspondences with the Hotel, Hyatt GP Customer Service, to illustrate how BAD they handled this matter. To this date, the incident still left a VERY bad taste in my mouth, and gets me all irritated and excited when bringing up this very subject.
I would urge the OP to contact EVERYONE remotely relating to the property he stayed at -- Hyatt CS, Customer Relations, GP Concierge, Corporate Sales, Hotel GM, Front Desk Manager, and Hotel Complaints.....etc....just to let them know that how ANNOYING this PROBLEM with Hyatt GP it is.....The OP has my full support in pursuing this issue.......
Again, bad bad bad showing on Hyatt.....

I use Hyatt.com rates almost exclusively for all my Hyatt stays, and pay with a Mastercard.
Every single one has counted for stay credit, GP base points, GP bonus points, and FFN credit. When I check out, I make sure it has the "Mastercard" notation on the folio. It has only been missing once, and I had them add it then and there.
My rate code on the room key holder always reflects that I am using a Hyatt.com rate. So not sure why some hotels are having a problem with this.

This problem is caused by the hotel as most of my .com rates post with FFN credit but the last 4 had to be fixed. I don't think it will be long before the problem gets fix,it has to be keeping GP CS very busy fixing all these stays during FFN period. Its taking 17 days to get the credit fixed by e-mail. I used to e-mail them and have my problems fixed in one day.

yup, this is a problem. Just call GP and they will put in the mastercard charge. For what I can tell, the AAA rate is often cheaper than the hyatt.com rate for the US and is changeable.

I find that by using 1800Check-in, most of the GP activity is reflected within 24-72 hours. Given that it is an extra step to use it, you are more likely to get the room that you wanted, have your DIA or PLT status reflected, and not have to monkey around with "did the front desk put my info in" etc. Give this a shot on your next stay or two and share your experience with the rest of us!!
