I do keep a running balance in Excel in case there is such a discrepancy, and it has helped me a few times when otherwise I'm not sure I could have tracked back to a problem.
Though, I think you can see your balance on the account summary that they email, so maybe look at the last one they sent to see if you can trace this?

This thread is Google's top result when searching for "Points will be deducted from your account when the reservation is confirmed," which I am now seeing.
I booked an award stay at a Park Hyatt in Asia. My wife is traveling there without me, and she has a Hyatt account that she has never used herself. So I called to transfer the stay under her name, providing her account number. The stay now appears on her account, not on mine. But the points that I used to book the stay have been re-deposited into my account. Meanwhile, her account balance is (and has always been) zero points. The stay on her account has a Confirmation number, but it also has the quoted language above: "Points will be deducted from your account when the reservation is confirmed."
Is this problematic? I don't want her to be at the check-in desk on the other side of the world and be told that she doesn't have a room. But I also don't want to call in if I don't have to, especially if I may have lucked into keeping these points. I'll call if there's any question, though.

I would also fill out and attach the points transfer form with the email that's found here as a CYA so that the points will be transferred to her account.
