Delay in hotel posting payment
I did a very small mattress run ending yesterday at HP Times Square, 3 nights to take advantage of the Chase/WOH 10% offer and get some additional elite nights on my way to Globalist. I never physically checked out as I received an email from the hotel with my final folio - not the "interim" one you might see overnight, but later in the day of check-out noting "per your request, please find the bill for your stay" with a charge to my WOH card noted.
The odd thing is that there is no pending or final charge on my Chase account. I called the hotel this morning (a day after check-out) and at first he thought something looked off, but then noted that he saw the charge had posted at 1:28pm yesterday and everything looked fine in terms of check-out. I would normally not care and wait a few days, but today is the last day of the Chase offer, so if it posts any later I won't be eligible for the cash back.
Is it normal to not see a charge after check-out? Anything else I could do to ensure that it posts today?

AmEx is usually pretty good about giving you the credit in situations like this (assuming it doesnt show up until after the closing date and that the process date isnt backdated). Chase isnt usually quite as generous.

Do the T&C specify the date that the item hits your account or the date of the transaction. The former would be odd, but is possible. If the latter, then this is a non-issue unless the item never hits your account.
It sounds as though the property did post the charge but that it has not yet hit your account. Could be anywhere from an internal issue to the property's payment processor to Chase. Call Chase as once you have the property's receipt there really isn't anything more they can tell you beyond what they told you when you called.

The pending hold usually posts the next day, but a pending hold is at the merchants option and is not the same thing as the final transaction. It is not unusual for the real charge to take 3-5 days. It is not unheard of for the pending charge to time out and drop clear off before the final charge hits your account (especially for a Hyatt charge), but it is almost always dated the day of the transaction.
How crowded is that hotel these days? Hoping to get my second shot on time and get into New York not long after that. I'd rather have somewhere more upscale with a club, but that is good location and not a bad hotel if the price is right.

Manhattan hotels are dead. For now all lounges are closed due to NYC regulations - indoor dining in general is opening up again on 2/14 at 25% capacity, but I doubt any of the hotels will be opening up their lounges right away. For the time being you can get much nicer hotels than HP for close to $100 - as I wasnt actually staying in the room, I didnt care. Just know theres a reason everything is so cheap, Manhattan is empty, no one is working or visiting, and the folks who can afford to live there have moved to their second homes. Dont expect much happening inside or outside the hotel!

I had same issue 2 weeks ago. Points and nights credited within 24 hours but there was no pending transaction on my Hyatt credit card. It took over a week before it showed up. I actually told wife maybe hotel comped my stay 😅
I was checking (normally I never would) because I never got the 10% off $250 USD promo on any Hyatt stay even though I had multiple over 250 and I waited 15 business days for several of them.
I ended up messaging chase and they said I did qualify and they would indeed process the $25 USD and to wait another 8-14 business days
