To view the award calendar for any Hyatt property, go to the Hyatt global map and search for, click on, or zoom in on the property or region of interest. In the alternative, start the booking process; once you've narrowed the selection to an individual property, you should see a link to the points calendar directly beneath the link to the hotel website. Note that calendars do not indicate (un)availability on any given date.
  • Hyatt appears to have updated its systems to display calendar links for nearly all properties. (Immediately after rollout, coverage was notably incomplete.) If for some reason the property you're interested in does not have a points calendar link, use a URL of the form https://www.hyatt.com/explore-hotels/rate-calendar?spiritCode=XYZZY, where XYZZY is the hotel's five-letter code. (Codes are shown in the URL for the Hyatt property listing; for example, the Tokyo Andaz is "tyoaz.") Once in the calendar, you can navigate to view additional months. h/t to Neric for flagging this shortcut.
Not all hotels and resorts offer redemption of suite awards; please contact the Hyatt Global Care Center or visit a hotel or resort's property page on hyatt.com for details on whether suite award accommodations are available at that hotel or resort. only a handful of category changes occurred this yr, I would imagine we will see the normal 10% of the portfolio change categories in spring 2022

after holing the csr for 5 years I downgraded it to the chase freedo flex p2 holds the csp and I have pp access from hiton aspe card, if the peak/off peak is a nightmare the value proposition of the csr and the 1.5 cpp may become more attractive.

it would only be fitting that I fought myself for months and downgraded based upon the fact all of my redemptions are transfers to Hyatt which is available on csp and I don't spend 9k a year in travel on the csr to make up the $155 difference.

Do we have an official start date of October 15? I’m curious what mid October actually means.

I’d say the 10th to the 19th.

I have not seen an official start date.

Just in case "mid-October" turns out to be earlier than one would expect, I chose to spend yesterday and today making all of my remaining points bookings through the end of schedule.

Spoke to a supervisor today who dug as deep as they could, waited 30 mins and they said Mid-October is the best answer and they agreed it’s very ambiguous.

So it may be pushed back once more, it may be launched who knows.

From a PR viewpoint it would be very poor judgment to launch this earlier than the 15th. While mid-month is technically the 2nd 10 days (ie, 11th - 20th), mid-Oct has a strong psychological impression of being Oct 15. Launching earlier than that would have no benefit for Hyatt but leave a bad taste with many members.

And potentially increasing point requirements when travel is the effects of delta may not be the best commercial decision either.

Yes, but that could easily be balanced out by a points rebate could it not?

Exactly, it doesn‘t matter when this starts. If you need to travel then book. If your dates fall into the peak your safe, if the dates fall into off peak you will be refunded.

Except the difficult thing is this forces you to book up to 13 months out. Most of my travel plans are made 3-6 months out rather than 7-13 months out.

So that is kind of what makes it an issue for me at least.

Another issue I see is who decides what’s peak or off peak?

Is it based on the ADR?

For example I have a stay booked at Andaz Papagayo in November where the daily rate is $395, which looking at Google’s rate Calendar and checking Hyatt.com for other dates is actually the lowest possible ADR.

Meaning it should be Off Peak, but even with all this data and research in concerned that it’d be Standard because why would they want to lessen the amount they receive?

does the hotel receive a rate on point redemptions based on how many points it costs or the category which it’s within?

Hyatt hotels get reimbursed more when the ADR (Average D and occupancy are high and less when the ADR and occupancy are low, categories also do matter with significantly.

I’ve seen quite a few properties leave Hyatt after not having their category level increased despite spending tons on renovations.
