That's the way Hyatt works. Incompetence. I sent them an email a week ago to combine some points, you think anything has been done so far?

LOL; this seems about right
Hyatt Dulles & Hyatt Fairfax are both down to 1*
So out of 106 hotels changing categories about 1/2 of them are either 1-2 or 2-1 which is sort of interesting
I only saw two properties move by two categories
1-3
6-4

I'm glad I already booked the Hyatt House Naples for our upcoming November stay at their current category 2 redemption rate! Judging from their glowing reviews online, it's by no means a surprise that they're moving up to category 3. And honestly, category 3 still seems to be a good value for the rates that they're typically charging. But I'm definitely not mad for getting our 5-night stay for 40K points instead of 60K.

This sucks, sucks, sucks, for me, worse than I could have imagined. Day = ruined
The three properties where I literally stay the most are going up, HP Portland/Cascade Station, HR San Francisco, and HR McCormick Place.
HP Portland makes little sense with the HH Portland Downtown opening. Oh well, looks like I won't have to Red Line Max it any more from Cascades. HR SF is a more staggering blow. Stay here all the time. Now annual free night unusable here.
HR McCormick Place is just brutal too, and they're shooting themselves in the foot. Why would I stay there now that the HR Chicago is a Cat. 4 as well. After my stay at the Centric last time, won't go back, so that one isn't too bad for me.
San Juan HP and HH going up also sucks big time. Good thing I booked them for October already.
HR Jersey City? Also shooting themselves in the foot. I'd rather stay at the HP Midtown for the exact same price and not take a boat twice a day to Manhattan.
And does anything make up for these losses by going down? Uh.... no. I don't leave the country, so 95% of that list is completely worthless for me. Only highlight is Centric South Beach which I probably will not visit as WN only flies to FLL, not MIA.
This is a sad day indeed.

I've had a look at the FAQ, but this didn't seem to be covered. I've got a cash and points reservation at one of the hotels that's dropping a category in October. The FAQ indicates that I'll get some points back in August, which is lovely, but what about the cash part? Will that automatically get dropped on the reservation to match the new lower level's cash-part of cash-and-points, or do I need to do something after the 1st of August to get that changed too?

Hyatt House Gaithersburg is closest to home for me, and it's going to be Cat 1. Will be convenient if I need to MR.
Unrelated...There's going to be a Park Hyatt at Cat 1?!?

Somebody leaks the list to the Boarding Area bloggers, but IT can't get a webpage up and running for the general public.
