I got two Mastercards replaced without any explanation whatsoever, which has caused me a lot of inconvenience. Why did Hyatt not proactively contact affected customers without undue delay when this data breach became known?
I stayed at 3 affected hotels during the quoted time period.

I was at 7 of those properties during that time period.
Fortunately, I haven't noticed anything suspicious yet on the credit cards that I usually use with Hyatt. *knock on wood*

Does this only affect stays, or any kind of spending via credit card at the hotel?

Most of the information accessed was from credit cards used at restaurants although some were used at spas, golf shops, and parking facilities as well as in a small number of cases a hotels front desk or sales office....

Agreed, both domestic and international properties I've stayed at have been hacked. Only 1 out of about 2 dozen hotels I stayed at was not.
I'm really disappointed on the way Hyatt has handled this.

I had lunch at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe during the dates in question.
The worst part is I never got points for the lunch, even after being assured I would... but I WILL have to replace a credit card, it looks like.

I'm pretty angry. I have numerous stays at properties in Australian and other countries all of which are listed.
In Australia, companies must disclose data breachers to the Privacy Commissioner and customers as soon as they become aware.
I'm not operating on a maybe basis, I'm going to have to replace a number of personal and my work cards.

I'm pretty angry too. I've stayed in Hyatts in multiple countries and all of them are on the list apart from Hyatt House/Place ones. I also had my card cloned while I was staying in a Hyatt and now I know why.
