Pretty regular treatment for a LT Diamond member at a property with 75 suites..., one should not forget that the entry level suite at the Grand Cypress is nothing to write home about, although the LC2 is pretty nice, I prefer the black one to the white one, though.
90 days in a row should result in a rate significantly below the base rate, at the Grand Cypress the weeks leading to X-Mas and the ones after New Year are pretty much off-season, so I would expect to pay around $ 150 per night, probably less for such a long stay.

Mary2e.. You said you had a relationship with upper management at the Waikiki hotel which offers you special treatment. So which is it, your special relationship, or just calling up as any Joe to get a suite less than the going base room rate? You made it point to display your prowess with upper management at Waikiki, but now you're claiming that anybody can do this.

And to all members, posting garbage like the public can do this is misleading. The public usually calls central reservations.

Coconut Point, not Cypress.

But you DO call the hotel directly if you want to negotiate a special deal. Central reservations can't do anything.
I'm sorry you think it's nonsense, but it is pretty SOP for not only Hyatt hotels, but most chains. I've also gotten my parents "smokin" rates for a month down the street at the Pacific Monarch - a 1 bedroom ocean view suite for less than a regular studio is going for.
Perhaps you should try it yourself before calling it nonsense. Hotels appreciate the guaranteed revenue from a long stay and will make concessions to guarantee it.
Didn't you just post that you got a great rate for 24 days at the Grand Cypress next year? Ditto for Kauai? You're not getting a break because of your status, but because of you length of stay and because you spoke to hotel staff directly why you were there.

It's simply garbage to say, anybody can book a suite for less than the base room rate. Yes, I agree there are pockets of exceptions. But it's elevated bs to say everybody is going to receive such a deal by simply calling the hotel.
I didn't receive any special treatment booking these deals. Off the website and central reservations. Central reservations did call the hotel and line up the difficult reservations.
Edit: I just wanted to add that I know senior management at a few Fairmonts. My friends and family would not receive the deals they did without my relationship with the hotel manager and GMs at the properties.
I have been going there for many years. However, they still have to answer to their senior management, and it's not for me, it's for my parents.

If you want to continue to fool and delude yourself that somehow you are special then go ahead and be my guest. But quit calling reality garbage.

It is not BS at all. An absolutely nobody who has never stayed at a Hyatt or in fact any single hotel in their entire life can phone up, say they want to book a room for 3 months and what kind of deal can you cut, and can book a suite for less than the base room rate. ABSOLUTELY ANYBODY. not even an out of pocket exception. Long term lock ups are far more profitable than some "Diamond" DYKWIA who gets free breakfast every day.

Take some time and look at your own post before your next comment.. You are saying that ANYBODY can call up and get a suite for the rate discussed. But you are missing an important element to the whole discussion, and you mention that the ordinary joe is going to get better treatment than a Lifetime/Diamond.

I know for a fact that a non-status-holder who books a convention providing several hundred room-nights on an otherwise dead weekend gets treated a hell of a lot better than a Diamond member who books a room. (Said better treatment might well result in him ceasing to be a non-status-holder.)
