the charge for the breakfast buffet daily for 2 is just under $120
the tip line is stamped “included” so there really is zero cost for brekkie

this month, i TSUed to pool suite, requested ocean suite, and got ocean suite at checkin.

chocolates and bottle of champers, substituted for pinot grigio, as welcome gift

free daily $35 valet, never saw it on the folio

all for a measly 25K.

a real gem.

Do they still have boundaries around what is included in "breakfast buffett"? Been awhile since I've been there but at some point they defined certain islands as being off-limits for award-stay feeloaders.

Even my friends that work for Hyatt complain about "games" reserving space here on their employee rates.

the globalist breakfast is literally everything - lattes, espressos, diet cokes, menu items from the kitchen like the cinnamon roll pancakes, the full buffet - hot, cold, juices, made to order whatever you want just ask - scrambles, pancakes, french toast, & omelettes

aside from the difficulties in securing award space and the limited number (2?) of TSU-eligible suites, this property is game-free once on property.

welcome note w/ wine, manager reviews all globalist rooms before check-in to make sure housekeeping is perfect, turn down service daily when requested, no charges ever make it onto the folio where you have to fight to get them removed,

expensive meals at Morimoto won't credit to WOH, but my concierge fixed that in 10 minutes.
the 47 cocktail is the best gin cocktail ever tasted.
reserve a table outside at Morimoto on Sunday nights and enjoy the luau entertainment as free bonus

even the award space game now of 3 nights only is no big deal.
i was easily able to book 3 nights, and add a "2nd room" on the same confirmation for 3 nights, reduce the 2nd room to actual nights needed, and use 1 TSU for the pool suite.

I've not gotten a welcome gift either (all stays after switching to WoH from HGP though).

I think that welcome gift is still a thing for Courtesy Card, but don't know since I'm not one.

Wife and I just finished our stay here. Had to play award games for weeks but eventually got the days we wanted on points.

We loved our stay and felt like every staff member did a fantastic job. Got an UG without using any TSU to Partial Ocean View Suite and had chocolates and wine in the room at check in. (Though I did email hotel directly beforehand and this was a repeat visit for me).

Breakfast was fantastic as everyone has said, and no issues with any charges (all resort fees of 45/night, valet parking, and breakfast charges removes). Breakfast includes an 18% gratuity.

All the little touches (free sunscreen, free water bottles, free snacks/drinks in minibar, etc) went a long way and we loved all the free activities.

Suffice it to say if wife and I come back we’ll be staying here again.

I will say, the Grand Wailea was a vastly different experience and we didn’t feel so warm about all the nickel and dining there.

Anyway, if anyone had doubts this is absolutely the place to stay in Maui.

I've stayed nearly every year, and haven't gotten a welcome gift since two-three years ago.

My understanding, one can get anything for breakfast, no limits, including special items... excluding poke or champagne... and açai bowl/fruit.

I have a One Night Award (Category 1-7) for reaching Globalist Status which will expire on March 22, 2019 and
I wanted to use this award at Park Hyatt Tokyo (Category 7) in the first half of May.

I have checked with Hyatt and there is nothing in the rules that would prevent a Globalist from exchanging his/her Award with another Globalist’s Award that expires at a later date. (The only caveat is that Hyatt would not be responsible in case of fraud.)

If someone has a similar award (Category 1-7) which they planned on using before March 22 and which expires after May 15, 2019 I would be willing to work out some sort of an exchange and help in the future as I will be requalifying early again.

Please let me know or send me a private message. Thanks

And also for Hyatt Prive guests, VVIPs or close friends of management.

I guess I've always gotten a welcome gift. This is from December. There was also a nice Christmas gift delivered on Christmas Eve filled with goodies.

@Colin - there are 4 pool suites

@all - there's an additional menu that shows the stuff on the menu you can order. Or there's stuff off the menu. I'm attaching pictures of one thing on and one thing off... you guys can tell what my favorite is

I find that most hotels that are used to giving amenities (eg, if they are Prive hotels) will usually give it to globalists as well. I've gotten them about 80% of the time at these hotels (and I'm no VVIP, as far as I can tell)

Maybe the award nonsense will stop now that they're going to 30k/night?

LOL. I don't see why the new Category would impact gaming.

Redemption demand was a cause of the current gaming? Sorry, IMO seems to me like nothing changes much (with regard to why they might reduce gaming moving forward).
