250 (HP/SS) / 500 (FS) Point bonus if Diamond Amenity Does Not Post Automatically

Just called to switch a bunch of stays from points to miles (for Grand Slam purposes). For one of the HP stays, I also had to request the 500 point Diamond Welcome amenity. The agent told me I would get 250 bonus points since the 500 didn't post automatically!

Considering that HP/SS virtually never post welcome amenity bonuses properly, I guess we can start to think of them as 750 point bonuses -- not too far off from the FS properties!

Is this an exception or a new rule?

I can see it now....everyone who is upset that their points haven't been posting will now hope for their points not to post.

Based on their posting history, I'd be getting at least 6250 points every year

The agent I spoke with seemed to indicate it was a new rule. He quickly said something like 'blah blah you'll get 750 points, including a 250 point bonus because it did not post automatically'. (I wasn't paying attention until I heard 750!) So then I asked for clarification.

And he explained it as though it's now the policy. I certainly did not ask for any bonus points, and I was not upset at all. Heck, calling in the following week to get the points is just part of my routine when I stay at a HP!

That's interesting. I didn't receive my 1000 point 1W Diamond bonus for my stay at Highlands Inn last week so I used the website to request the bonus. I see today that it looks like I got 1500 points instead of 1000. Could that be because it didn't post automatically?

So maybe it's a 50% bonus for the welcome amenity bonus not posting automatically......

I wonder if it applies to 'closed club' bonus too?

This could get fun!

Same thing happened to me last week - received 750 points for a Hyatt Place Diamond Amenity not posting, and 1,500 for a full service Hyatt not posting. Was told that going forward I will receive a 50% bonus if I have to call in for an amenity bonus not posting. Seems fair to me!

I didn't get my 500 amenity points at a HP in Salt Lake City. when I emailed my PL she said that the hotel claimed i had taken the F&B amenity instead and that she could not give me the points. I have never taken the F&B amenity at a HP because it is worthless. My PL is escalating it for me.

Lets see if I get anything extra from it

It is 250 pt extra for HP and SS and 500 pt extra for full service.
They post as:

Diam Retro Amenity 1500 Bns Pt

^^ to Hyatt for addressing this.

(no additional bonus for missing "regency club closed points" though )

Funny, my PL rep goes through monthly and catches up whatever was missed. She told me this way I would not have to call. Guess I will be calling now, my points from last week did not post.

Perhaps you can still email your PL rep and get the points that way. You're still initiating some form of contact with Hyatt in order to request missing points.
