AAA rates?

What's the best way to get a Gx bonus to post with an AAA rate? The terms and conditions say it should count. It doesn't seem to work online, unless I'm missing something. Call before, try at check-in, or call after?

Just ask them to add it at check-in, I never had any issues with this approach.

On average, how long does it take for Hyatt points to post to the GP acct? (I checked out Sat am and thus far nothing has posted)

Between 1 day and 2 weeks for domestic properties.

While most of my domestic stays post within 2-5 days, I have a fair amount that post faster and slower -- sometimes even the same property might post a later stay before an earlier stay.

If it doesn't post within 2 weeks, then the chances of a domestic stay posting drop off.

Which property are you talking about?

I've wondered if it relates to whether and how many bonuses we have, and then perhaps the stay has to pass more eyes (night auditor, and counterpart at GP). I haven't watched closely enough to make this a very robust hypothesis, though. Perhaps others have?

I've had those issues with Gx bonuses not posting with AAA rates and corp rates. I've always ended up just calling if it doesn't end up in my account within 4-5 days. I think I've developed a habit of calling the GP line at least 5 times a week...

Hey all,

Just had a question - it's been nearly 8 weeks since my stays but my airlines miles haven't posted, along with their bonuses. I've chased them up at 6 weeks but of course they've said they've already put it through etc. Do I need to be concerned and chase it up again? I need the miles for an award booking soon also..

Regards,

points for food and beverage charges on award stay?

Does one receive points for food and beverage charges on an award stay? Stay was solely using award nights so obviously do not expect stay or night count to increase.

Thanks

After re-reading this most useful thread from the top, there appears to be no mention of whether Gx bonuses can be gleaned from stays where points have been earned but no stay credit was earned (e.g. free nights, whether from use of points or from NBT/FFN redemption). Presumably the answer is "no", but I don't have first-hand experience to be certain.

An answer from someone who knows would be a nice addition to this compendium.

G bonuses are only given on paid stays.

new to Hyatt; need advice/help

Having read this and other threads (and having signed up for a new GP account which gives me trial Plat status) I have a few questions about booking a June stay in Orlando. Right now all of the Gx bonuses only go through Febraruy (when do expired promiotions get removed??) or in a few cases through May. Should I wait to book or can these bonuses be added to a reservation afterwards?

I assume Gx bonuses are per stay bonuses, so if I want to hotel hop between properties, I will maximize bonuses, correct?

Finally, since Hyatt seems to be on track to unveil the Next Big Thing or Big Welcome or new FFN or whatever at the end of March, should I also wait until then in order better understand my options? Or even longer?--in other words, how often does Hyatt unveil these mega promotions or even little (Gx) promotions?

Finally, it seems like booking their non-refundable rates this far in advance (I like the prices) is not a good idea given that new promos seem to be fairly regularly offered. So when should I pull the trigger on these rates? For example, the 30+ Prior rate details at the HP Orlando Airport say that booking should be done 60-89 days prior to the stay. Any advice would be appreciated cuz this all seems really confusing. Thanks.

1) Hyatt web issues are notorious. Prepare yourself for same.
2) G Bonuses can be added at any time, even post stay.
3) Hotel hopping ='s more bonuses. Always.
4) Different promo's are unveiled at different times. I book locations/rooms far out, then check regularly to see if the rate drops, bonuses are added, etc; changing if appropriate. And although it probably won't happen in MCO, I have actually found FS Hyatt's cheaper than HP's at the last minute.
5) I never book a pre-paid. Ever. At Hyatt or anywhere else. Especially at HP. IMO, the savings aren't worth the possible loss if rates go down, your plans change, or the million other things that can happen. I won't risk it. YMMV.

1-4 are standard; others may reply differently on #5.

Enjoy Hyatt and welcome to the forum.

These bonuses never post for me with intervention.

My routine-book online, usually AAA rate, then email GP to have them add the GX bonus to the reservation. After the stay posts, I email again to have them post the bonus.

Today I emailed to have them post the bonus on a recent stay and they responded within minutes. I have never had them deny me the bonus.

I agree on all points, but will add that GP customer service has always corrected errors and missing points without question.
