SPG Plat and Hyatt Diamond frustrated, aswell!

I have to agree somewhat with jms8090... I think I would actually prefer Hyatt - now I always get breakfast and internet and can choose when I need a suite ahead of time 4 times per year is much easier than the wonderful, but highly variable benefits at Starwoods.
However, I'm over 90% mispostings for the past 2 years with Hyatt. You would think Hyatt would be even a little embarrased about this. I can understand G bonuses getting lost in the system even 50% of the time, but diamond amenities, diamond bonuses and sometimes all 3? How do you justify a diamond amenity bonus posting with no 30% diamond bonus. If GP had to provide an "I'm sorry" 2500 points per transgression, mayby I wouldn't have to spend more time managing the points I'm entitled to than making and managing my reservations.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying the program, and the faster-free-nights provides me with a 60% savings from doing mattress runs in exchange for a top european hotel for a business trip in Feb, stealing my business away from the nearby Westin and Hilton. Without this, there's no way I'd overlook how much extra time I need to put into calculating what I'm entitled to and hounding them for corrections.

Usually corporate rates are considered "volume" rates and are eligible for stay/points credits. If you are concerned, call GPCC and confirm the rate is eligible.

No, you're wrong in thinking this. As the above poster mentioned, you should get stay credit on corp rates.

One idea is when doing such hotel specific promo: after completing it--ask the Hotel to make a copy for your records.

I've been on the phone with the diamond line a few times now, and they refuse to credit these points. One agent even called the hotel and came back saying they had never heard about such a bonus. Should I just give up on chasing these points?

Yes, I am getting embarrassed at having to call in for the Diamond Amenity bonus. Specifically filled out the form at the Hyatt Long Beach and I checked with the check-out agent that it would be on my account when it was emailed to me (not showing on the over night folio) but alas never posted. Same routine at Hyatt Place Las Vegas last week. So I am getting the G bonuses to post, but the W ones just don't. Feel like I might as well take the food/drink items and then call and claim that I didn't get the points bonus. I suspect the agents think this is what I've done anyhow, so maybe I should just do it!

I'm not sure that these nights will count at all, since they were not booked on hyatt.com.

The main problem is that UA Vacation, or tour bookings, are similar to consolidator rates, and typically don't count for stay/night or room rate spend credits. You need to confirm with GP CS.

Thank you for this very useful tutorial - especially since I've just started staying at Hyatt a few weeks ago!

Apologies if this is a stupid question, but...are there any (US) stays where a Diamond is not entitled to the 500/1000 point amenity? E.g., award stays, FFN/promotional nights, etc.

You are entitled to your amenity on every stay, no matter whether paid or free.

Except the Diamond free stay at a Hyatt Place or Summerfield Suites (in My Promotional Awards)? Didn't receive it for that, and was told it was a special case when I followed up. For 500 points, I didn't push it. And I didn't feel entitled to in, anyway.

I received my 500 points with no trouble.

OK, once again with your encouragement, I'll push it. Thank you.
