I saw Clark Griswold playing Rock/Paper/Scissors there the other day.

What a dump the Sahara has become. The carpet looks like it has been there since the 50's. If you got a room for a dollar they might owe you change.

Sad.

Flamingo Hilton & Vegas Insider - Points

Saw a promotional rate of $39 for weekdays if booking via Vegas Insider for the Flamingo Hilton. Anyone ever use Vegas Insider before and have any comments, positive or negative. Also, does one get Hilton points or is this consider third party?

There is no "Flamingo Hilton" only the Flamingo which is part of the Harrahs empire .... the Flamingo hasn't been part of the Hilton family for many years .... thus no Hilton HHonors points at the Flamingo.

Have never used Vegas Insider but if they advertise it as the "Flamingo Hilton" I'd be worried.

Thanks, my mistake. Did not realize the Flamingo was sold as the Hilton website list the Hilton Grand Vacations Suites at the Flamingo.

Actually if you can get that rate for the HGVC at Flamingo I think it's great, they all have a refrigerator, 1 bedrooms have a living room and full kitchen, they were built when the Hilton still owned the Flamingo and although the hotel was sold to Harrahs the condos were not.

Good location, they share the pool area with the Flamingo

There's nothing wrong with ther HGVC facility in back of the Flamingo. You're a long block off the Strip and it's not at all like staying in a casino, more like a residential condo block, but it's fine. You can walk to Bally's, Bellagio, Caesar's, Paris, etc. within five or ten minutes.

The Flamingo itself has seen better days and is kind of old-Vegas kitschy/dowdy. I think the Hilton affiliation ended about eight or nine years ago.

Terrible's Labor Day Weekend Rates $54/$29

$54 weekend per night (Friday/Saturday), $29 weekdays per night (Sun-Thurs, including the Sun. of Labor Day weekend). Also includes Free Brunch on Labor Day ($11.99 value). https://booking.ihotelier.com/istay/...ePlanid=710447

I've noticed a number of hotels sending out emails for special rates on Labor Day weekend the last few days.

I have stayed at other Hilton timeshares in Las Vegas besides the Flamingo. You might want to check them out.
