Thanks guys. Might well be it was a wrong information since I think our host was probably a bit junior. She provided wrong information on other occasions as well unfortunately.

Do you lot typically negotiate the quoted upgrade rates? Is there any flex there. One thing I noticed is the Superior WV is more expensive to upgrade in low/shoulder season then high/festive... what gives?

Has anybody had breakfast at Ithaa? I saw on the wiki it’s now an option. We’ve had dinner there - lunch seems to be way too hot in there (from what I’ve read) - is breakfast a better option? I want our little one to experience it so which would be the more kid friendly option?

I've never been a big breakfast at Ithaa fan, unless I'm able to get there early when it's cooler. As you say, once that sun pops up it can get uncomfortable (unless you're in the covered section).

I couldn't find a resort map with individual room numbering to each... so would like to ask a quick question re SMV.
Below is a pic from a post by MF- I believe the most left one of SMVs is 331 and the most right one is 342?
(331/332/333/334 - 335/336/337/338 - 339/340/341/342).

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/27542279-post2534.html

MF likes #339 the most in this article but I think below pic suggest #342 is the best?
Well I think indeed #339 would be best for me for snorkeling and view.

You should let management know about this. Nobody would want this host to continue giving the wrong information to Diamonds and who knows what else he / she has been saying to everyone else that may be incorrect. Just go to the front desk and quietly make it known to the Duty Manager. 5 minutes of retraining will get things straight.

Your numbering is correct. See also the maps I posted in #4257.

Your post is greatly helpful, thanks. Wiki should add a link to this I think.

I am staying overnight in Male before my upcoming stay in February. I contacted the hotel regarding their partnerships as mentioned in the wiki and was told that at the moment, they don't have any partner hotels nearby. If this is in fact true and I wasn't given misinformation, then the wiki should probably be updated. I also noticed that the prices of the recommended hotels were a good bit lower than the wiki suggests, which I found surprising given February is a popular travel month for the Maldives.

[QUOTE=MaldivesFreak;30662849]Ahh, thanks. Then it will be "My own vegetarian dishes inspire me.....enough that I need them when I go on holiday.....to Conrads....."

Not sure how I should interpret this.. but one does not simply choose to be a vegetarian based on if they are on holiday or not. It's akin to being asked if you eat fish when you state you are vegetarian. It's either you are or you aren't.

How is the bug / mosquito situation there now? I assume they still spray the islands to keep them to a minimum?

Never got a single mosquito bite over the course of 10 days. We were out at dawn and at dusk every day, when mosquitoes are most active.

Anyone can edit the Wiki (as long as have been on FT for 90 days and have made 90 posts) - that is the main idea of a Wiki, that it is community maintained.
