Welcome to FT. Using the search function reveals a number of threads with comments and reviews of the NRT Hilton. You may want to review some of those threads and see if they will answer your questions.
Here are a few of the threads:

I second that welcome.

And for future reference, the "Search this Forum" link is on the top right corner of the list of threads in this forum.

If the foregoing threads don't give all the answers you want, or you want an update, the thing to do is "bump" the most relevant or helpful by asking if anyone else has more recent information. (If everyone else had done this, we wouldn't have such a proliferation of threads on the same topic.) @:-)

I hope you have a long and happy FlyerTalk "career." You will find that there is a lot of knowledge in these threads. :)

Like the OP I will be overnighting in NRT and have booked an award stay at the Hilton Narita. I have 24 hours so I will follow the suggestion here and the other threads of going into Narita town for a nice, leisurely walk.

I have a couple of questions regarding this overnight stay.

1. I'm arriving on AA and departing on CX. Is there a left-luggage service in either airline's terminal(s)? I will have two big suitcases and do not fancy schlepping them around on a shuttle bus.

2. Is high speed Internet access available in the room? Fee? Wi-Fi in public areas of the hotel?

Thanks!

kevino Oct 18, 2005 6:37 pm

bp888,

There is a luggage storage area at Terminal One where you will be arriving. After you clear customs and exit, turn left. Walk past the currency exchange desk, and there will be a baggage storage service before you reach the restrooms. I don't know how much it costs.

When you pick up your bags the next morning to catch your CX flight in Terminal One I think the only elevators and escalators are at the other end of the hall.

The Narita Hilton website says they have Wi-fi and high speed internet access in the rooms. I don't know how much it costs.

Thanks, kevino.

Stayed there on Thursday Night, As a Gold I was given a room on the 11th Floor, inside the arc of the building, but near the end so I could see daylight.

I was given a Continental breakfast voucher and a gym/pool voucher. Upgrade to full breakfast was JPY1400. Guests having the continental breakfast were placed in a separate terrace subtley fenced from and to the right of the main buffet as you enter. I do like a hot breakfast, but the continental was fine. Also, the area was a lot quieter than the main resuarant.

drron Oct 25, 2005 5:34 am

Stayed here at the beginning of the month and wasnt too impressed by the continental breakfast-the food was only replenished if asked. The fruit plater was miniscule so after 2 or 3 people had fruit you would have to ask for more. Not nearly as good as earlier stays.
However noticed a subtle change in room-hardly any mention of hilton.Even the pens did not have the Hilton name. Also the shuttle into narita town now goes via the narita garden hotel.Has the ownership changed and will it remain a Hilton?

Rambuster Nov 3, 2005 8:08 am

Am currently staying at the NRT Hilton. The breakfast voucher states :" You may also select a full buffet breakfast for a surcharge of 1.270 Yen".

The pens are indeed no longer Hilton but the amenities in the bathroom are. Got upgraded to the 11th floor with a nice view of the NRT runway. Also received a voucher for the pool/gym. In room intenet is located close to the TV / wall opposite the bed, but they do provide a 5m cable. I guess it is OK.

The internet worked well, but it was in a pretty bad place in the room. It would have been nice to have them on or near the desks rather than by the TV.
:)

I noticed that when I was there last month. Had to stretch the ethernet cable across the room to the table.

My breakfast was the full breakfast. But then again, my coupon wasn't related to HHonors this trip. United Airlines was picking up my breakfast tab for the Full Breakfast this time around.

Hilton Tokyo Narita Airport hotel: Breakfast for Hilton HHonors Elite Members

Hilton Narita has re-started to offer the full American breakfast buffet for G and D members. ^

It is my past post.

Great to know. I have a 24-hour layover in NRT on Dec. 21.

OT, does Hilton Narita offer free high-speed internet access in the guest rooms and/or public areas?

No, Hilton Narita does not offer high speed internet for free in the guest rooms. It costs about 1,700JPY per 24hours. I do not know about the public areas.

Braindrain Nov 16, 2005 11:13 pm

Good news indeed! I've got 2 stays there next month.

Will we be told of this "upgrade" when we redeem our breakfast coupons? Or at check-in when we receive them? How does this work now (or again)?

I'll be there for a 2-night stay within the week...

CateyBeth Nov 21, 2005 2:05 pm

Word is the "upgrade to full breakfast" policy has been rescinded. Here's the link to the new thread:

You will not be told anything and be given a coupon at check-in. You can ask the front staff if the coupon is for full breakfast boffet or not. :p

CateyBeth Nov 21, 2005 9:30 pm

I have a 2-night HHonors stay this coming weekend, and I'm currently a Gold. I'll report back on my success or lack thereof. Thanks so much for the info!

SPN Lifer Nov 21, 2005 11:32 pm

Perhaps a helpful moderator could merge that thread into this one?

This new development gives those with the Hilton Amex an incentive to charge $20K annually on it, thus earning Gold.

CateyBeth Nov 29, 2005 9:47 pm

Woo Hoo! It's True!

I was given one coupon each for my traveling companion and myself for breakfast each morning of my visit. On every coupon the part that said we could upgrade to a full breakfast was crossed out, and each morning we were invited to partake of the full buffet. My friend liked the scrambled eggs and salmon, I was partial to the pastries and the soft boiled eggs.

This, plus many other little things about this hotel have now made it one of my favorite Hiltons in the world. A full review will be coming soon...

SPN Lifer Nov 29, 2005 10:16 pm

I'm glad to see that this "word" has been confirmed on the ground. ^

bp888 Dec 30, 2005 5:27 am

Update for those planning to use the left luggage service: Cost is JPY300/day for a small bag and JPY500/day for a regular size luggage. The cost is per day so if you're overnighting, it will cost JPY600 and JPY1000 respectively. You "pay later" (as the sign on the counter indicates) meaning you pay when you reclaim your bags.

Hilton NRT is everything that's been reported here and in other threads. Clean, quiet, efficient and so 70s. The Continental breakfast voucher that you get at check-in as HH Gold or Diamond does indeed entitle you to the full breakfast buffet.

Martinis at 8 Dec 30, 2005 5:28 pm

I did the Hiton NRT in Dec '04 as a stopover outbound from work/tour in SE Asia.
I found it to be an excellent property, and the staff very polite.

I arrived early. Checked-in, showered and took an express train to Tokyo for a 1-day tour. I returned to the hotel, again via train that evening. Next morning I took a walking tour of Narita, and flight back to the US that late afternoon. This was a very nice stopover.

N.B. on left luggage and the NRT shuttle busses - the NRT luggage carts are free and built to go on escalators (boy, could US airports learn from that!) The busses are large busses with belly luggage compartments, and the driver will handle the bags for you. On arriving at your hotel, the hotel staff will usually insist on handling the luggage for you (sometimes it is some very slight looking young girl, but that's how it is ) and there is no tipping (it would be embarrassing for the tippee.)

And Now Bad News

Starting June 1, 2006, an HHonors award reservation for this property will require 20,000 HH points instead of the current 10,000 HH points. :(

They ought to be arrested for that thievery!

JDiver Feb 18, 2006 8:20 pm

Good news, bad news.

Now we get the enormous full buffet braekfast again! ^

Now it'll cost 20k points to overnight. Actually, realistically, looking at their prices, that's still a good deal.

rbAA Feb 18, 2006 9:35 pm

I just paid US$77 for a Tuesday night stay, so 20k points for a free night would be outrageous. The breakfast coupon had the UPG language striken and the breakfast was fantastic, especially the made to order eggs.

JDiver Feb 18, 2006 9:44 pm

$77 is hardly the usual rate for Hilton Narita.

Theres another thread started by yasuki entitled Bad News From Narita Hilton . This change in category is perhaps more appropriate on the Bad News thread :(

Karter Feb 19, 2006 8:40 am

I stayed there at the end of January and got coupons for myself and my partner for full breakfast. I can't really explain why but this was one of my favourite Hilton properties ever. It wasn't terribly modern or chic or deluxe but I just felt really welcomed, the pool was great and they had the Japanese-style baths which was interesting. Breakfast was great... I almost want to plan a trip to Tokyo just so I can stay there again.

Same sentiments here. This hotel was becoming a big plus factor for doing mileage runs to NRT. At 20,000 it's just not such a steal anymore. :( Stll not bad though.

bearkatt Feb 20, 2006 8:48 am

would this hotel be a good cheap base for sightseeing tokyo? or is it too far out?

Actually see that rate (JPY9000,) or less, frequently.
