Sadly this does not surprise me. That whole town is designed to suck money out of you as quickly and efficiently as possible. Safe to assume that this was just another shoe to drop.

Hi,

That is poor considering the T&C's of the new offering was that it was for US properties ( per the T&C's of the main benefits it wolud still state a ' continental breakfast' for diamond members ( it appears almost to be a breach of the benefits in spirt if not actually)

Also if they were going 'american' it should be US$12 ie about $15CDN not $12 CDN.

A double strike!

Regards

If you are Twitter contact them through a Tweet; the Hilton Vancouver tried this trick on my and when I reached out to Hilton on Twitter they said they hotel is in the wrong and the GS Manager ended up calling me to say they were "trying it out" after being advised by corporate. Long story short, ended up getting the Cont. Breakfast for my wife and I.

I contacted them on twitter, mainly cos I think its pretty bad that after a week the diamond email hasnt responded and the response I got back on twitter was to DM them if I think there is a discrepancy on my bill, lol. When did Hilton CS get so bad?

Did you ever heard back with regards to breakfast?
Looking at staying here in July for a milestone birthday, but wondering if I should go to the DT instead!

Thanks, that seems a bit rubbish! I thought the daily credit was restricted to the US?

I haven't been to Canada before, and my use of Hiltons in the US has been very limited. Mostly Europe and Asia. It sounds like I might be in for a shock!

Hi,

See my post #257 above. It does sound rubbish.
If staying in Canadian Hiltons I would check before staying re breakfast benefit as it seems to vary. Other Hiltons ( ie Vancouver) seem to provide some breakfast to elities.

Like you I have not been to Canada/US since the new policy ( UK/Europe & Dubai)Had been planning to go to New York at the end of April and was expecting a shock but flight prices shot up before booking so have decided on Venice instead ( still planning on USA/Can later on in 2022)

Just coming back: They still do it with 12 CAD instead of Continental Breakfast.
I emailed all Hilton mail adresses i could find. So i have to wait. This behaviour is not okay. If i knew this BEFORE booking (as in US) it might be clear and okay. But with this without notice: we would have booked somewhere else.

On one hand, the F&B credits are insultingly low and remove a large, reliable element of having status with Hilton. On the other hand, when in Canada, only one thing qualifies as "breakfast"...

Was here a few weeks ago and asked about the breakfast benefit. Was advised that since they did not offer a "continental breakfast" I would receive as Diamond 2x$15 CAD vouchers per room that could be used in any restaurant in the complex. Had breakfast in the usual space on the 33rd floor of the south tower and everything had to ordered a la carte. Immediately noticed that the menu offered a continental breakfast (non-buffet) option for $24 CAD each.

Does anyone have any recent experiences at this property? I'm looking at a two-bedroom suite for this coming summer and the rates are surprisingly reasonable. Which makes me concerned that maybe there's something wrong or I'm missing something. The location seems decent and having two bedrooms with the sofa bed is appealing vs. the single bedroom at the Embassy Suites or at all the Marriott properties. There would be 4 of us -- two adults and two kids.

I will stay at this property for 2 nights near the end of February. Not pleased to discover the credit system is applied here, since it's not an US property. Also not pleased to read the credit could be just 15CAD - not even 18 - when the cheapest breakfast dish seems to be 24CAD according to the online menu.

Now I'm curious...
