Use code Axon 5 for cat. 5 and Axon 6 for cat. 6. I'm not sure how long this promo is for, just saw it when I logged onto my Amer. Exp. account.
Did the offer say that it was at a savings of 15,000 points per night? If you can actually redeem Cat 5 and Cat 6 at 15,000 per night, it would be an enormous benefit.

Just checked it out -

Its a 4 night block deal -
Cat 5 - 4 nights - 125K
Cat 6 - 4 nights - 145K

Basically its a savings of 15K points for the 4 nights or 3750/night savings.

Again - this has to be done in blocks of 4 nights.

I think this one has been there as part of the Amex HH Card (even the basic one) for a while.

Yes, I'm sorry I just called and the above info is correct. They also said the codes have changed to AXON 6 and AXON 7. They said the other info was old. I don't know why American Express is posting outdated info. Again, I apologize for misreading it.

BTW. I've had this card for 8 years and didn't know of this savings. I should read up on it some more. I'm a newbie so I'm allowed one mistake right??? Thanks!

This benefit has been available since at least April of 2005 as has been discussed in extensive detail in "AXON Hilton HHonors Award Questions and Information: The Definitive Thread".

Can a moderator change the title of this thread to "Special Offer for HHonors AMEX Card Members"? This seems more like a benefit from AMEX and not from Hilton...

Thanks for trying, Yensid, but this offer is a continuation of what Pmaddock & Beckles say--updated for the recent Category changes, which make the savings even bigger compared to the new normal points prices.

Perhaps a mod should close this thread & refer everyone to the link in Beckles #6.

I guess the lack of changes (though last year they did change old Cat 6 now Cat 7 from 125K to 145K) for the AXON awards is good news, but really it should be called no news. Only good in light of the bad devaluation news.

You can use a AXON7 for WAs? That's good news.

No, poster was referring to old levels. I believe now Cat 7's are 145K and Cat 6's are 125K. Not sure about Cat 5's.

This is really an excellent deal now, as a Cat 7 that would be 200,000 pts for 4 nights is only 145,000. There does not appear to be an AXON for Cat 5 anymore, but the Cat 6 and 7 are better markedly better values post-devaluation.

You can get a Cat 7 hotel under the new VIP awards for 4 nights for 170,000 points. Not as good as the AXON award at 145,000 points but better than 200,000 (4X nightly rate of 50,000 points.) Sadly we can't get the AMEX Hhonors card in the UK.
