For those of you who have or may be considering a Hilton AmEx card, you might want to take advantage of a new promotion and save some points:

Interesting promo but does come out higher than GLON or GLON2 for per night points.

That might be true if you need to stay 6 nights and I have been known to redeem a GLON for 5 nights only becuase it was less points.
Plus not all of us WANTS to stay 6 days in any one resort.

But a regular 4 night stay at a cat 5 or 6 is 140k and 160k respectively so that is a significant savings and one I am more likely to use.

Agreed that is a great find. I'm much more likely to spend 4 nights than 6 in one hotel.

Where did you learn about this AXON code? It is the first time I have ever heard about it! I have checked hhonors.com and americanexpress.com and find nothing! What am I missing?

You're missing nothing, Larry--you learned about it! And, if we had read it at hhonors or amex, then we wouldn't need to be here :D

Is it only for HH AmEx cardholders? Is there a reference to AXON promotion on HH or AmEx website?

When you log on to the hhonors site there is a scrolling message box on the upper right. One of the messages for me was this:

Your Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card from American Express has been upgraded! New benefits, new ways to earn even more HHonors bonus points, all still for no annual fee. Click here to learn more about what we've added to your Card.

Don't beat yourself up for not seeing it before. It was just announced on 4/15 and you have to click on the ambiguous message above to see the promotion.

Darn, just stay 4 nights at W=A at 160K.

I would like to say thanks for posting this--I just saved 20k points!!!

I had 2 rooms at the HHV booked with ALONs for this June, but I was only going to stay 5 nights. I switched to AXON, with a one night reward tacked on to the end, total 165 K for each room instead of the 175K.

This new reward is in addition to other enhancements to the benefits of having the HHonors Amex card, described on the same webpage cited, and previously announced on other threads in this forum, such as:

Interesting that the pre-announcement did not include mention of the AXON deal, apparently!

I have seen the 5 points for almost everything and 500 bonus points. I have not seen anything mentioned about this new reward bonus. I just received this in my Amex email.

Does anybody know if there is a special AXON rate for 5 nights? Right now I have reserved an AXON at the HHV and then a one night C601 right after that. So I'm spending 165K points for the 5 nights.

Also, since I don't really want to check out after 4 nights and then check back in, should I tell them about my C601 reservation right away when I check in for the AXON? Or should I hold off until the night before the AXON stay ends?
