Hilton Kyoto {JPN}
Hilton Kyoto is expected to open in Q3/2024 as the fifth Hilton property in the city. The hotel will be within a few minutes' walk from Sanjo Station and Kyoto City Hall Station, or approximately 15 minutes from Kyoto Station by car.
The 313-room hotel will have four dining outlets including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a rooftop bar and a caf. It will also have a fitness center, spa, indoor pool, and an executive lounge.
The hotel’s website states it will open in August 2024 but is not yet accepting reservations. Some photos from the hotel’s website.

Hi
Thanks for that.
There will be more hilton's in kyoto than in tokyo
I note the sliding door/walls between the bedroom and bathroom ( a bit like the hilton nagasaki)
Regards

Points
Rooftop bar and an executive lounge make this very high on my list for an upcoming trip to Kyoto in mid-March 2025.
I currently have a reservation at the Doubletree Kyoto Station which amazingly is now sold out for certain dates in mid-March 2025.

A bit pricey in December ( 95 k points for a standard room)
Hi,
Had a quick look at prices for Dec 2024 ( thanks for the info HawaiiO)
For 1st to 6th Dec ( sun-fri) the Hilton Kyoto rates are
HH points 95k pn ( standard room award) ( 180 k for an executive room)
Cash Y 56,340 pn ( plus taxes and service charge which are 23% in total )
Compared to 57k points and Y 28,215 for an entry room at the Doubletree Kyoto station ( or around 72k points or Y40000 pn for a king executive room) it is a lot of points and a bit expensive
Although the rooms at the Hilton seem larger , 95k points per night for a standard room seems high ( esp if you can get a Conrad for 95k points ). For those prices I would forgo a pool and stay at the Doubletree
It is possible that as the prices have just been published, they are seeing if there are any takers at these prices
Regards

For those of us who have visited Kyoto during Sakura - is the Ritz Carlton (and its new neighbor, Hilton) location so good that one should stay here over the Roku Kyoto?
I am torn. Cost is not the issue, I prefer a really convenient location to make the most of two days I will spend (first time!) in Kyoto to enjoy walking through the city.

Hi
For the first time visitor to kyoto, the hilton would be better IMHO as the roku is more isolated ( it is relatively close to the kinakuji temple)
