Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha {QAT}
Creating a dedicated thread for Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha now that the hotel page has come online. This property is located right next to the upcoming Place Vendôme mall in Lusail, 10-15 minutes north of West Bay. Opening September 7th, 2022.
Funny how this Waldorf wasn't even officially announced by Hilton, and yet will open ahead of the Waldorf Astoria West Bay which was announced in 2013 and has been endlessly delayed and crawling under construction ever since.

I just booked this hotel for a 5 night stay starting this Monday with my wife and son on the way to the Maldives. It was between this hotel and the other big names in Doha like the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carleton, and St. Regis. Hilton Salwa. I really hope it's better (room and food) than the rest!

Just returned from WA Doha Lusail... stayed there during Easter weekend and Ramadan at the same time... one word: WOW!
I rarely rate a hotel 10/10 but this WA wins it hands down... Staff was extremely attentive... Food delicious
DIA recognition excellent.
- Room: Upgraded from the cheapest room to a huge "KING ONE BEDROOM RESIDENCE WITH SEA VIEW"
- Late checkout was "anytime you wish".
- Breakfast, as diamond was offered was A la Carte and/or buffet (you can choose both)
- No Lounge, got drink vouchers
- Large chocolate cake delivered for my Bday without mentioning.
Apart from this, great pools (one regular, one heated), kids waterpark (perfect if traveling with kids) + kindergarten (again, great staff)... etc
It is worth mentioning, that this hotel is not in Doha per say, but in Lusail, which is 30 minutes by Uber from DOH and about 20 minutes from places like Corniche or souq waqif. Right across the street is a large mall (Place Vendome) with many more restaurants, shops and a supermarket.
What surprises me the most is the price, you can find prices year-round for about 220-250 Euros, which is literally a steal given all this, especially paired with DIA benefits.... If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I can also post some photos if interested...

We stayed here for one night end of April (a few days before my partners birthday).
- Booked queen deluxe, as a diamond got upgraded to queen deluxe room sea view with fantastic views from the balcony
- A personal concierge (Juancho) escorted us to the room and explained everything we needed to know about the hotel.
- No lounge as previously mentioned, we did not get any drinks voucher
- A welcome amenity (sweets) and a chocolate birthday cake were also brought to the room which was much appreciated. Again, a banana "birthday" pancake during breakfast (the restaurant hostess asked us if somebody was celebrating bday).
- The Bentley digital scale in the bathroom was cool, as well as the toothpaste tablet. Two small jars of honey for coffee/tea was impressive.
- The pool/jacuzzi was small but we loved it as there were no other guests during our visit. Unfortunately, there was algae on the beach.

I just returned from a 2-night stay at the hotel for a long layover. The hotel is impressive and it feels luxurious, but it's really not near anything and there were lots of families there. I was there Saturday to Monday. It seems to be a destination unto itself. It's a short walk to Place Vendome but there's no pedestrian walkway or sidewalk that we could find for some of the walk, which means leaving the hotel you are walking on the driveway for a short time. They must not get a lot of people wanting to walk because we were looked at like we were crazy to be walking there. When it's over 100F the short walk feels very long.
I booked a king deluxe and received a sea view room upgrade. Our air conditioning struggled the entire time. When we arrived after 11p the room was so hot. Sleeping was difficult because it was so hot both nights. We were escorted by a concierge the room as well. I found the room to feel small because of the strange design and weird use of space. The bathroom is huge and what you expect of a luxury hotel. There's a small foyer for no reason that takes up space near the door. The closet is walk-in which is impressive. Then the balcony is huge with 2 chairs and a small table that might take up one-third of the balcony space. We did not receive drink vouchers and we definitely would've used them.
I booked the BMW 7 series to and from the airport. It's quite expensive, ($200 each way) considering you can probably get a taxi or uber for less than $50. It was really nice. One thing that I was not anticipating was how many small children and screaming babies would be at breakfast in Bywater. It was unpleasant, even though the food was good. We were offered a la carte and buffet. We also ate dinner there and it was empty on a Sunday night. The food and drinks were excellent. Considering how new the hotel is, I feel like they are still figuring out what they are trying to be. All of the staff were extremely eager to help.
