My "cHHat now" button is right where it should be as of about two minutes ago.

I've been a diamond for a couple of months now and have never even seen the chat function. After seeing this thread I decided to look for it -- nothing. Am I just blind? Where is it located?

Log onto to HH and go to tab "HHonors activity". Data fields at top of page should look something like I copied below. The chat button/icon is directly below the "get answers to your questions". I've used it several times instead of DDesk. You can get rnanuscript of the "chat" with the agent.

I am Diamond (and just requalified thru '07 - love that rolling tier thing). what is the chat thing you all are talking about?

overall, i think the diamond desk does a good job.

I agree that the diamond desk does a pretty good job. At least with my few requests. ^

This post inspired me to follow the instructions and I found the cHHat button as directed. I clicked on the "What's this?" link beside it and landed on a FAQ page. Here is an excerpt that might answer a couple of the questions in this thread:

What is cHHat?

cHHat is a NEW option available to select (emphasis added) Diamond VIP members. It enables the member to contact an HHonors Customer Service Agent with any questions they may have while browsing their account online and receive an answer right away. cHHat works like an instant message session so it is very convenient and easy to use.


How do I use cHHat?

It's easy. Just follow these steps:


Click on the "cHHat Now" button located on all your HHonors account pages, next to the "Sign Out" button.
A new window will pop up. Please enter your email address and select a question from the drop-down menu to have an agent paged.
When the agent is ready, you will be greeted. Then you may begin to type in your question.
Note: In order to use cHHat, you must first disable your pop-up blocker, if installed. Please contact your internet service provider to ask for instructions if you need assistance.

Like milesmilesmiles said, there are two grey blocks right underneath "Get answers to your questions", one is "Sign Out" and the other is "cHHat". Quite useful.

Not meaning to mix threads here, but I just used the cHHat button to chat with an agent who painlessly and quickly enrolled this Diamond in the 5/10/15 Targetted promotion mentioned extensively in a parallel thread. I'm impressed!!

Reading this I figured I'd give it a shot and use the cHHat facility to ask for a promo on my account. I guess w're all doing the cHHat now because...

Yep...it seems to be a little ragged over the past week. One "chat" agent said they're being deluged with questions about all the promos...

Well, after leaving the window up it suddenly switched to "Live customer service agents are standing by" (don't they give them chairs?) I asked for the 5/10/15 promo and was promptly signed up. Woo hoo -- three more free nights, here I come!

I must not be one of the select Diamonds because all I have is the "Sign out" box! Anyone else not have it??

If you have chat and did not receive the "5-10-15" promotion, log on and request the promotion as mentioned above. I just did this and was signed up, just like that. ^

BTW - OSUtraveler - for me it's not on the main screen when you first log in. When I click one of the tabs - like "My Profile", etc - a new window opens up and the Chat Button appears next to the "Sign Out" button.

It was listed under the hhonnors link not the default link
