Additionally, you can save time by having AutoSlash generate a quote for you up-front by clicking here, or if you've already got a rental booked, just click here to enter your info and AutoSlash will check to see if a lower rate is available.

If you're looking for a specialty vehicle from Hertz (something from the Prestige/Adrenaline/Green Collections), it is helpful if you can specify the four-letter car size code (i.e. ICAR, MVAR, etc.) shown on the Hertz website for the specific vehicle you're looking for.

2.I want to get a large size SUV
1. Yes , if you' are a 5 star member you' ll have an upgrade.

2. So you want a full size suv like a Chevy Tahoe ?

As a 5 star member you can pick any availlable car in the 5 star section .
There might be a full ssize suv availlable .
Maybe you have to ask a greeter for it.
I prefer the double booking strategy.
In this case i would book a FCAR .
Price in your periode $ 846.91 all taxes and insurrances included
Go to the garage and pick your car.
No FCAR ; Ask a greeter.
Keep the booking for your desired full size suv in reserve .
Did you read the postings on how to get the Presidents Circle status on the Hertz forum ?

This YouTybe video is not taken at Lax , but it gives you an idea of how you can choose your car

Thanks a lot for your response. Do you mean I just book another FCAR and pickup a full-size SUV? is it possible? the price on list only the half
So if I can get an upgrade, does it mean I can choose a FFAR car by using FRAR reservation?
Another question, if I reserved two orders in the same time, will Hertz charge me on the un-used order?
thanks again

No, free upgrades apply to cars only--not SUVs. If you want a Fullsize SUV, the best deal is with Alamo for $1,145. If you book an FRAR you will be assigned an FRAR. You will have the option to choose from the Ultimate Choice area corresponding to your status assuming the location you're renting at is a UC location, but the likelihood of there being a Fullsize or Premium SUV there is going to be very hot or miss. To put it another way, you have a very small chance of getting a larger SUV with an FRAR reservation despite what any previous posters have said.

On LAX you take any car , SUV ,MPV what ever you like and what ever is availlable Autoslash !
Exactly the same as with National's Emerald Club. You rent a midsize car and you drive away in the car you like availlable in the section of your loyalty status .

Here a YouTube video specially for you ;

If you book while logged in to your Hertz account its usefull to put some CDP 's in your profile.
When shopping ( switching between hertz.co.uk and hertz.fr f,i, because these have the best rates in EU. ) its handy to have some CDP 's at hand to see wich is the best. You'll see some different rates using LHF Senator MC CDP 501032 and Amex FB CDP 769269.

Car renting is a game .
There are some rules like not using corporate rate codes , but over all its freedom for all.
Booking from Europe gives you the garanty that wether you book from a French ,German, Irish site you allways have the same service and full insurance for a different price.
I used the LHF Senator MC CDP and saved 40 Euros. Do I need to own and pay with the LH MC to use this CDP?

Please help me to make decision:)

Hello, I am going to LAX in july for 19 days, and I want to rent a full size SUV at Hertz, like GMC Yukon or Chevy Tahoe.
Let me describe my reservation plans.
I have made two reservation on hertz website. One is FFAR which costs about $1700 and the other is ICAR which cost $900+.
In my mind, I will use the ICAR reservation first, I don't know if I can select a car like Infinity QX80 in platinum upgrade area? if yes, can i only pay $35/day more based on ICAR?
If there are no interest car in platinum upgrade area, I will use FFAR reservation.
Can my plan run? I need your advice, thanks

Well since you're 5 star and you use UC, you know of course that you'll get to the exit gate and there will be confusion if there are two reservations under your name. I have no idea what happens in that case. Maybe you can cancel one of them online before you take the car out, but I don't know how fast Hertz would update the data at the exit gate. Have you done this before? I'm curious how it works.

The data is updated instantaneously but once the pickup time passes, you can no longer cancel online (or via the mobile app), so you'd need to set the pickup time ahead enough to still have enough of a window to cancel one of them.

Hi all- I'd love some help bringing this price down. I know the automatic transmission makes this rental much more expensive than manual, but I have enough trouble driving on the left side of the road without also trying to deal with the gear shift...
Thanks!
