reviving a thread...
Going to Maui in OCT 2013, looking for Snuba options. I have Scuba'd before and really liked it but have not gotten certified and wont before our trip. I think Snuba is a good option, I'll post what I find.

OOPS... forgot about this thread.
Really want to surprise my partner with a WOW diving trip if possible.
Any newer suggestions since two years ago? Would be on the Kona side. Week following Thanksgiving.

We dive every year with Kona diving company. Love them!! The Manta night dive is awesome, as is their night reef dive. For daytime dives, we love the dive right at the mouth of the harbour, as well as the site called the aquarium. Kona has great scuba conditions, and if you just talk with them about the type of dive you would like, they won't steer you wrong!

Best Islands for Diving?
We have been to Hawaii many times, but are not divers. We are taking
extended family and will probably visit two islands - diving is important
and we have no feel for the best locations. They are deep water certified (excuse me if I'm off on the terminology) but aren't super experienced.
This is for March if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Looking at my dive log, I got a little carried away at Reef's End Deep. I show max depth reached at 134ft.
Monolith over on Lanai is another good dive, easily reached from Maui dive operations. Barge Harbor on Lanai is another good one.
I've also had some great dives on the Big Island, but I need to find my dive log for it. Anything on the Kona coast is usually fantastic.

I'm partial to Molokini crater, both the back side drift dive, and on the inside, Reef's End deep. Both are great dives, and have done each a number of times. Also plenty of beach dives on Maui, although getting from the car to the beach can be a pain. Five Graves is one which is past Kihei, as well as dives past Kapalua.

Big Island recommendations?
Any recent experiences / recommendations for BI dive tours?
Is it better to just snorkel for viewing the manta rays at night?
Any experiences with the black water night dive?
