pro bowl help

pro bowl help
friend made pro bowl again. he is as clueless to the honolulu in's and out's as i am. can anyone give me an idea of where to stay? do not want to stay with players as it will be a zoo that week. dont know where stadium is as it relates to downtown or waikiki beach. price not a big factor. location is. i do not want to rent a car as i will be on a 3 day boozefest. also bringing along my 70 yr old dad. sorry if this is the wrong spot. please move if needed.

Hotel wise, you're limited to those in Waikiki or Ihilani (which IIRC is a Pro Bowl team hotel?).

Players stay at the Ihilani which is in west of the airport and more isolated. You will find the most choice in the Waikiki area (east of the airport). If price is not a problem, Halekulani is very nice. More main stream hotels are the Hyatt Waikiki, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Embassy Suites Waikiki, and Sheraton Moana Surfrider.
Since you will be on a 3 day boozefest, please have the concierage arrange a car and driver (limo taxis are available) for you and your dad. Make sure to get someone who will pick you up since it will be hard for you to find a taxi for the return trip. This will save you the hassle of parking and is safer for all of us.
