Players stay at the Ihilani which is in west of the airport and more isolated. You will find the most choice in the Waikiki area (east of the airport). If price is not a problem, Halekulani is very nice. More main stream hotels are the Hyatt Waikiki, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Embassy Suites Waikiki, and Sheraton Moana Surfrider.

Since you will be on a 3 day boozefest, please have the concierage arrange a car and driver (limo taxis are available) for you and your dad. Make sure to get someone who will pick you up since it will be hard for you to find a taxi for the return trip. This will save you the hassle of parking and is safer for all of us.
