I consulted BFT and used priceline. I bid for Union Square East & Union Square West zones yesterday and went up to $90 but got rejected. If $95 if the going rate, then I'll try that on my next rebid after 72 hrs.

I based my statement on these posts:

I am really amazed as usually 75-80 is enough for a weekend 4 star.

Just tried priceline now. Noticed that hotwire now has a 120usd 4 star USE room that was not there yesterday.

70USD USE/USE 4 star rejected
75USD USE/USE/Civic Centre 4 star rejected
80USD USE/USE/Ciciv/Cathedral Accepted

Grand Hyatt San Francisco
Union Square East - Embarcadero

May schlep in through the tunnels from COCO County (shouldn't that be CO cubed?)

Took my niece and her cousin from Kentucky a few years back. Niece (21 at the time) was fine with it - the cousin, also 21, thought she had descended into (in her words) "The GATES OF HELL"..!!!!

Just moved to SF, so I really should check it out though it's not my scene.

If anyone is meeting up, I'd be game.

The Priceline gods are not smiling on me.

I bid on 4* for USE & USW starting at $80 and used all four rebids up to $100 and was rejected.

I tried botique for USE & USW starting at $70 and used all six of my rebids up to $100 and was rejected.

I tried 3* for USE & USW for $95 and used my only rebid to try $100 and was rejected.

I didn't get a single counter offer, which is pretty unusal lately. The moderator even asked if I had had a previous issue with Priceline, like maybe a chargeback or something. It is very frustrating, especially since you scored at $80.

i just looked and the 4 star on hotwire at 120usd that i saw before i bid is now gone. my suggestion is to keep checking hotwire to see when a 4 star in the 120 range pops up. then hit priceline with an 80usd bid.

I'm actually in SF right now - and the hotel (Park Hyatt) says they've been very busy the last couple of weeks (and next couple of weeks) - I didn't get my usual suite

Flying in on Saturday and leaving Monday, as part of a bigger US trip.
Staying at the Argent through priceline.

Just outta curiosity, what did you get the Argent for? Priceline seems to not like me these days. :-(

OK, I went to Folsom Street Fair today. Glad that I went. Prolly not gonna do it again. WAY too many yuppies gawking at everything. This isn't the dogwood festival. I'm Mr. Vanilla, and when I'm halfway up the freak scale of the event, there are some people attending that shouldn't be there.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought people were going to the Folsom jail.
