Hotel in Berlin?
Anyone that can recommend a hotell centrally located in Berlin, for a 4 nights stay? I was hoping to get a nice hotel. (4-5*?)
I have read something about the Steigenberg Berlin, anyone that can say something about it?
Thanks for all answers!

Welcome to FlyerTalk, djaudunn2
Also, is your primary focus business or leisure? Do you prefer to be closer to your morning activity or your evening venue?
If I had to pick two out of a hat, I'd give priority to the Regent and the de Rome, both in the Mitte district (near the federal governemnt offices, and just steps away from both the Staatsoper and the Komiche Oper, for example).

Geez, that's pretty broad, djaudunn2 - what are your interests in Berlin?
My personal favorite hotel in Berlin is the Grand Hyatt, at the Potsdamer Platz, easy walking distance from the Tiergarten and the Sony Center. Plus, the hotel itself is great, great staff. The Marriott nearby is also nice. Easy access to the U-bahn (underground metro), and S-bahn (above ground).
Other neighborhoods in Berlin are Mitte, Kreuzberg...what is your price range?

Hotel in Berlin
March, 2006 stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Berlin. It is right across from the Potsdamer Plotz. Centrally located. Easy to walk to all the sites. We stayed on the Concerg. floor. Rooms are beautiful. Staff at hotel are great. Someone recommended we take the double decker bus, which has a stop right near the hotel. You can get on and off at museums, attractions, etc.
I would highly recommend this hotel. Do not miss the Pergamon Museum and the Egyptian museum. Other great museums; can't remember names.
Have fun.

My primary focus is leisure, so it must be close to the main attractions.
Im looking for a hotel that costs between 100$-200$
per night.

That's 70 - 140 Euros! 5 star for this price is a little bit difficult.
In july and august there was a special offer at the westin. But I don't know if it works even now?!

I'm showing a 149 Euro rate at the Berlin Marriott hotel at various dates later this fall (trying dates in Oct & Nov). Choose the govt rate!

Mercure Checkpoint Charlie. Hate to sound like a shill but what a great find this hotel has been. Great location and you can get very cheap non refundable bookings. Check out some of the Tripadvisor comments.

I stayed at the Park Inn Berlin Alexanderplatz summer last year. I'm not sure how many stars it is officially but I'd give it a solid four. I don't know if they have gym/spa/pool/restuarants since I don't use those usually. The room itself was ultra modern/new/clean. I only paid 90 Euro/night and thought it was a total bargain. It's right next to the Alexanderplatz train stop and right next to the telecom tower (so it's very easy to find your way home if you are lost). Here are some pictures of my room. I highly recommend the place.

I'd recommend staying in Mitte since that is so near where the action is and is so interesting. Sometimes in the west you feel like you could be in the U.S. with Starbucks everywhere and such.
We stayed at the SAS with the huge cylindrical aquarium in it and it was awesome. I'm not sure that is in your budget, so I would recommend another place we stayed which is the Movenpick which is very cool and quite inexpensive for what you get. It's not far from subway and is easy to get everywhere.
