Getting to Munich from MUC
It's been awhile since I've done this (and forgive me if this has been covered, but I can't find it). It seems like my best choices into town are the train or the Lufthansa Bus. I understand that my hotel is next to a Lufthansa Bus stop. Is one method preferable to the other? And, btw, since I'm flying Lufthansa, do I get any sort of discount if I take the bus?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Funny, as some Munich S-bahn trains have the propoganda poster warning "Stau? S-bahn fahren!".

It's the Renaissance Munich (which I think has little to recommend it, other than it can be quite cheap on priceline).

I have done this before, bus is easier
As mentioned earlier, the bus could find traffic, but it is more convenient and less time I think then changing from S-bahn to subway or taxi. You also have less luggage dragging with the bus...
liked the hotel, it is in a primarily residential area, but buy a multi-day pass and you are a few stops from Munich Center.

Look here

I know that the bus passes by near your hotel (near/at Leopoldstr.). Don't know, if there is a stop. And If, there is still some walk.
BTW, they post that they have 7 different routes in case of pile-ups.

Thanks! It seems like, in my particular case, the bus is the better option because it will drop me at my hotel. I guess I need to figure out which Lufthansa bus to get on, though -- I assume there's more than one route into Munich.
From the link provided above, I see a roundtrip is cheaper than a single ticket (and that they also sell ticket books). Does anyone know if two people can use a "roundtrip" ticket one-way into town, or are they directionally marked?

There is only on bus - it might only take several possible routes from the airport to the city border to avoid heavy traffic. But rest assured - the first and only intermediate stop is close to your hotel, which is pretty nice. I do not believe that you can use a "return" ticket for two singles. The sell it on the bus and and it is marked for outward and return.

There is also a station for public transport (U-Bahn) next to the hotel. But public transport to this area of Munich is quite inconvienient from MUC airport as you have to take S-Bahn and then U-Bahn. Maybe 50-60min minimum transfer time; public transport might be a bit cheaper though.
