Stuttgart Neckarpark transport
Am I correct that there is regular service (i.e. at least several times a day) between Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof and Stuttgart Neckarpark stations on the S-Bahn?
Am I also correct that U-Bahn service to Neckarpark runs only for special events (sporting events at the Mercedes arena, etc.)?
I'd like to base myself at the Hilton Garden Inn Neckarpark for two nights to visit the Mercedes, Porsche, and Simshein Auto & Technik museums. I plan to get around by train, so regular service to/from Neckarpark would be a big help.

From Neckarpark to Stuttgart main train station takes about 10-15 minutes using Bus 56 and then switching to the S-Bahn. Buses leave every 5-10 minutes.
From the main train station to Sinsheim it takes about 1:15 hours. Check your schedule on www.bahn.de (switch to English using the flag on the top right of the page).

cygnus, thanks very much for the information.
Do you know how the neighborhood is for walking between the Neckarpark S-Bahn station and the Hilton Garden Inn at night? It looks safe enough (and quiet) on Google maps but that's not always the best indicator.

It's safe (the amount of street crime in Stuttgart is pretty negligible)

Well, not really; in the last few months there have been quite a few attacks at night, but they usually happen in the center and between midnight and 3am. The Neckarpark area should still be safe as there's not much going on, especially at night.

Thanks for all the info. I've decided to stay at the Motel One close to the Hauptbahnhof in large part because it looks like there's not much of anything to do (outside of the Mercedes museum) in the Neckarpark area.
Staying in central Stuttgart will give easy access to the Mercedes & Porsche museums, will be convenient for arriving and departing by train, and offer many more options for things to do and places to eat & drink. The Hilton Garden Inn looks like a nice hotel, and is part of the chain I'm loyal to, but not the best hotel if one is relying on public transport.
Now, if I just avoid the streets of Stuttgart between midnight and 3am I should be OK
