Vegas TR Diamond "to dos"

OK - hadn't seen any 2019 updates... so figured for those of us who are Diamond from matching, not necessarily actual game play, I wanted to throw the question out I'm staying at Ballys later this week, on a comped room, matched to Diamond last month from Wyndham). Want to maximize my visit, as I selected the property based on Diamond benefits (primarily resort fees/parking).

What I gather:
- no resort fees (major reason I booked here vs a decent low rate at an mLife property, but mLife had resort fees
- $100 celebration dinner (see below)
- parking: free for both self and valet

Questions:
- hotel upgrade... I see on benefits chart "best available room" looks like only 7*, but what about little upgrades for Diamond... experiences? Worth asking? pushing? $20 sandwich (only somewhat kidding)?
- show tickets... is this done? no more? dont see it referenced as a benefit anymore
- From the benefits page... "Enjoy special member pricing at participating restaurants"... what does this really mean?
- Celebration dinner: $100.... does this function as a credit against the charge, or is it like one shot... in other words, I'm solo... if I can just use up $100 , I might do a couple low key meals... or if its use /lose in one shot, I'd just goto Nobu.
- Diamond Lounge... I'm not currently at 25k tier credits, so it says "may be a charge" - ive seen posts here referencing costing tier credits.. like 1k/person/visit... but is there a "cash" price?

TIA!

Questions:
- hotel upgrade... I've been upgraded before. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. I would never use the sandwich $20 for an upgrade
- show tickets...Ask for a list at the TR desk in the casino
- From the benefits page... "Enjoy special member pricing at participating restaurants"... You get a discount at some restaurants by showing your TR card
- Celebration dinner: $100.... I've always been told one use. One time I went to dinner with friends and they allowed me to put the extra towards one of my co-workers meal.
- Diamond Lounge... 1K Reward Credits (not cash, but they equate that to $10 value) per person if you are under 25K tier credits

Try to check in at the Diamond Registration, usually they try to get you into a pretty nice room without a fee. I wouldn’t count on getting a comp. upgrade to a suite though.

Show tickets are still being offered to DIAs and 7*s:
https://totalrewards.custhelp.com/ap...-show-benefits

Some restaurants offer a small discount to members of Caesars Rewards, it’s usually mentioned on the menu

One-time use so cannot spread it across several meals

No cash entrance

Thanks - on the main benefits grid I didn’t see anything about tickets so glad you sent that link!

As for upgrades go . Never hurts to ask. I have been upgraded by asking. It really helps to know the exact name (and the rates they charge on their website for the room) of the room you want to upgrade to
Also, have been given the option to pay to upgrade to a suite for X dollars which in some cases may be worthwhile upgrade. Sadly I tried 100 dollar sandwich for a long visit which didn't really help much. I was "upgraded" but not even to a suite at PH. Consider it a lesson learned.

If you do decide to check out the Diamond lounges and are having to pay 1k rewards credits.. then try to get there between their "hot" food item times which i believe is from 4-6pm. All other times is a bare food offering. Although I do like me some chips and salsa which they have at all times everyday.

Sandwich upgrade has a better chance of working at lower end properties (think Ballys/Flamingo/LINQ/Harrahs).
Then again, it's not hard to get a nicer room at booking if your play level is decent.

FYI: missing Diamond CHeck IN doors on way in, platinum agent was fine... got a newer updated room, decent view , was happy

RE: Dinner... used at Nobu at Caesars... just mentioned when check came... showed TR card, came back , owed $22 (plus tip)... nice
RE: shows... didn't have a chance to use, a few were dark those nights I would have wanted to see (Penn and Teller , IE).

All in all, glad I went with TR over mLife on this trip... no resort fees, totally free room/fee-free and parking free.. plus dinner... good deal!

I usually use vip check in if open because they usually give you some bottles of water though the front desk sometimes does this as well. I've gotten room upgrades at both but usually this happens when the room I booked is unavailable. I preferred the automated kiosks as it shows you any free upgrade offers but I don't think they do this anymore.

Fyi the normal check in has bottled water as well. Just ask at check inn if you are Diamond or 7* .(well at least PH does not sure about the other properties)

They also have beer and champagne at the VIP check in.

The DW and I did the status match hopscotch through HH to Wyndam and on over to TR, all signups and matches done online. We are both now TR Diamond and headed to Vegas in May with friends.

Any recent reports on using the $100 TR Diamond Celebration Dinner benefit? A few questions on how to best use it... we are not vegas regulars, just did the matching for this dinner benefit.

Will we be mailed a physical TR membership card? Or do we just stop by the booth for one to get printed for us?
Do we need to stop by a TR booth to pick up the certificate? Or can I just show my TR card (on my phone in the TR app) to the server at a listed restaurant?
If 2 or 4 people go out to dinner as a group, can the $100 be applied against the whole tab? We wouldn't be splitting checks.

1) I've never seen them mail a card, not to say they don't, but I don't imagine they do. You pick up at property.
2) They recently implemented a new system, you only need to show the card and ID at the restaurant now to use your $100 cert. No need to stop at the TR desk for a paper cert.
3) Yes.

You pick up your CR card at the CR desk though you may be able to use the card on your app (I never tried or asked). I would still go to the CR desk and ask them to verify the $100 dinner is in your account. They will also have a list of restaurants where it can be redeem. The credit is meant to be applied to 1 check so if you did plan to split checks you may have to ask if it's allowed (YMMV).

Good stuff! Thanks for quick replies.
