Can't Cancel (Diamond)

In the latest chapter of Frontier's ineptitude...

I want to cancel a flight. On the home screen, when you click on My Trip/Check In, it no longer allows you to type in your name and confirmation number. Instead, it directs you to use the app for these things. But the app won't let you cancel a flight.

So after wasting about 10 minutes trying different things, I figured out that I choose "My Trip" from the website's top menu, then choose Manage Trip, which brings up a screen where I can actually enter my confirmation number and cancel the trip.

Is this ineptitude? Or are they trying to make it really, really hard for the average person to cancel their flight, hoping that they just give up?

Really hard to know Frontier's motivations, as they seem both inept AND reluctant to allow passengers to actually cancel their trips.
What frustrated me the last time I needed to cancel a Frontier reservation as a Diamond was the fact that the website only offered an opportunity for a future flight credit, not a refund to my credit card. This is not a huge deal for me because I'm flying Frontier every month or two, but I generally prefer the refund because -- surprise -- Frontier doesn't make it easy to track your flight credits! You kind of have to remember them, or search your email. It would be good personal practice to have a place to record your credits and when you used them.

The new website is extremely confusing. Here's what I do:

(1) Use this link to cancel trip and get the full amount as trip credit: www.flyfrontier.com/travel/my-trips/manage-trip/. This guarantees that your trip is canceled before 24 hours prior to departure.
(2) Fill out the online refund request form and explicitly ask them to refund the trip credit back to your original payment method due to WORKS: frontiercswprod.powerappsportals.com/contact-us/request-refund/

Yeah, I've done that over the last 2 years. It's time consuming, and sometimes you have to be very persistent with the agent. They will often give you misinformation that you can do it on their website. Because I'm buying a new Frontier ticket every month or two, I generally find it less hassle to just take the credit. If I flew them less often, or had a large purchase I was cancelling (my typical Frontier ticket is probably 30 bucks) I'd be more persistent in having them give me the money I'm entitled to.
