Just pick a seat in STRETCH and seat fee will be added to your ticket price.

Hello I am wondering if the Stretch seating will be worth the $ or if I should get the classic plus. I am traveling with my 2 year old DD and 5 yr old DD. We are traveling from FLL to DEN. I am looking to make things as smooth as possible ( I am a super nervous flyer). I have a pacemacer so I won't be able to go through the metal detectors. My husband is able to help me in the airport waiting to board in FLL so I am not to concerned with security there. I was wondering if the priority security available with the classic plus tix may be helpful on the way back (from DEN to FLL) or b/c I can't go through the metal detectors it wouldn't make a big difference.
Also what seats would be best for traveling with two kids? I will be taking a later flight on the way home and hope they fall asleep.
Also I am little confused on the cost of STRETCH seating. Is it $5 if you are getting the classic. When can you book those seats?
Thank you!!

I would probably opt for Classic Plus if you want the expedited security line. This would include STRETCH seating, which will probably work great for you to get near the front of the plane and have plenty of room. I believe the FLL flights are on the airbus, so either Classic or Classic Plus will include Direct TV which should be great to keep your youngster's busy during the flight. If you don't need the expedited security, I would book Classic and get STRETCH at booking (that's where the addition $5+ comes from, STRETCH is only included in a PLUS ticket).

I am confused. I just got off the phone with Frontier (40 plus min on hold!!!) and they said that STRETCH seating if $30 plus even at the gate. I asked her to check with a supervisor and she said she did and it is $30 for my fare from FLL to DEN.

Though STRETCH upgrade starts at $5 over Classic fares, on that route STRETCH seating on a Classic fare is $30. It's a $40 charge to upgrade to STRETCH from Economy on that route. If you would like to sit in STRETCH, you may as well book Classic Plus, which is only $30 more than Classic; it includes STRETCH seating, plus all of the other perks.

To check the cost of an upgrade to STRETCH, go into the booking engine, select your flights on the Flight Selection page, then click on the seat map. Below the seat map, you will find a legend. This is where you will find the cost to upgrade. Just click on the date and fare that you are interested in, click on Seats, and the seat fee will be noted.

Humm not sure if it is worth the extra $180 for the 3 of us to get the STRETCH for that price I can get the Classic Plus. My friend took the same flight in May and they only charged $5 per person b/c there happened to be availability when she checked in at the gate. Is the STRETCH really worth $180 EXTRA. It is two kids and myself... so we aren't tall. I was just wondering if that would make for some 'moving' room.
Thanks again for all of your input !!!

Book the seats one way. If you think it is worth the extra money, you can always add them for the return leg.

So sorry for all of the questions but can you change the flight from classic plus after you booked as classic?

Am I the only one on this board who does not think it is worth paying $180 to "upgrade" to Stretch Seating for an admittedly "not tall" adult and 2 kids? The kids aren't going to know that they have 5" of extra leg room, and they aren't going to get the benefit of an adult beverage. If you want to spring for the DirectTV, pay $6 when you are on board and save the seats in front for the vertically challenged (tall) people!

Of course I also don't see the benefit of paying $100+ to go through an expedited security line. If you wouldn't otherwise offer people in the security line $100 to cut in front of them if you knew there would be no repercussions with others waiting in line, why would you pay an airline to do the same?

I'm sure RSVP is suggesting that you buy "Stetch Seating" after the fact, not changing fares from Economy or Classic to Classic Plus.

I was wondering the same thing about the extra room..will it make that much of a difference as far as the kids getting to move more. As far as the security goes. I a very NERVOUS flier (I had a medical issue ON a flight before) and I am trying to keep my stress down. 2 kids waiting in a line with lots of luggage can easily cause stress.

Ok I think I am not going to do the Classic plus. What row do you think would be best for one adult and 2 kids? How is row 6? It will be three of us, so we will take one side of a row. I am hoping they will sleep on the way home too. I figure it is close to the front so we don't have to wait forever to get off and not right at the wing so they can look out the window.
Thank you

The only rows to avoid on an A319 would be 9 and 23 as the seats don't recline. You won't be able to sit in rows 10 or 11 as they are the exit rows. So, choose any of the others and they will be identical to row 6.

To keep your stress low, wherever you can get the 3 of you together will be the best choice, so that you are not trying to switch seats at the gate or with people on the plane.

Good luck!

It sounds like you have a good plan - row 6 should work out just fine. It will be in front of the wing for good views, near the forward lav for the kids, and close enough to the front for a fairly prompt deplaning.

Be sure to take advantage of pre-boarding, so you have a little extra time to get settled in with the kids. If they watch a favorite video during the flight, time will pass more quickly for them (and you, too); so, think about bringing a DVD player along.

With all of the expert advice you have gotten from us, the only thing you need to be concerned about is having a good time.
