I thought Summit members could confirm Stretch seating at any time. I'm wrong. Summit members can confirm only at check-in (online), at a kiosk, or at the counter.

Tried a dummy booking and did not work (did not get the first 4 rows). Also called the Summit hotline and they told me at check in (24 hours ahead).
I don't really like it this much and the last 2 flights on flight 1 the online option did not work or all seats were taken and on the next one I got a seat when checking in online but then looking around I had the distinct feeling that most people were actually ones checking in late (talking to seat neighbors).
I think this whole system does not work well for elites. Maybe over time it sorts itself out but up to now I am not impressed at all. Also I hated the 24 hour Southwest game with a passion and now with stretch seating I seem to be back playing it if I want a seat up front.
Also in reality it is exactly 6 seats that I can choose from since I want isle non bulkhead.

I tried a couple of dummy bookings as well, and did not have the option to select 1-4... It would be nice if Frontier allowed Summit members to select Stretch 48-60 hours before the flight, Ascent 24-48 hours, and the gate lice at T-24hours till departure..

I am assuming the same policy will apply to YX flights, $25.00 upgrade fee at time of check in.

Any one tried the "crunch seating", the one's with the legroom reduced to make room for the "stretch" seating.

It sounds like this non-Summit DEN flier might want to go with Southwest from now on.

This seems like a bad move on Frontier's part. They could either try to be more like Southwest or more like United, and they have chosen at every step (bag fees, change fees, legroom etc) United for some reason that I can't fathom.

Acting like United will not make your customers happy or your company profitable.

Last time I flew, Stretch was full at the T-24 hour mark... It was kind of strange, as every other time I have flown, Stretch has only had a few takers... To me, the "crunch" seats seemed just like they were before stretch was added...

I finally had the system working the way it was supposed to on 2 relative empty flights. Both time I had a whole row for myself which was nice. Actually on the second flight I was the only passenger in 4 rows except 1 Virgin pilot that was free riding (probably got stranded with the weather).
The FA's did also not allow seat poaching into those 4 rows.
I still find it more of an annoyance then a real gain, it is a little more legroom but I am still annoyed not being able to get seats in the front anymore at booking. Those 4 rows are blocked and row 5 has the isles blocked, so first possible is row 6.
Also I do assume that the 15$ / 25$ price difference are low enough to have business travelers pay for it to get a better seat when they check in online. The web site now pushes the up sell to stretch seating pretty hard.

Had a STRETCH seat twice this past week on the A320...DEN-CUN-DEN. It was well worth the $15 fee for the long flight. Of the 24 seats last night, only 6 were officially occupied. Three others moved up after takeoff, which I don't agree with. You shouldn't be able to move into a premium seat which others have paid for. Would like to see a fix for that.

If they were Summit or Ascent members, they could be moved up free of charge. If they were poachers, the fix is the FA being diligent and telling then to get back to their assigned seat or come up with
the credit card machine and ask them to pay for their seat. No one would think of taking snacks off their tray without paying for it!! But it's the FA job, they do know who Summit, Ascent and Classic Plus passengers are.

Here's a tip. Summit members can get stretch seats only upon checkin. When using the online checkin (within 24 hours of departure) select the "View Seat Map" option. Then, pick a specific seat in rows 1-4. Don't use the default (window or aisle) because unless you pick the seat number yourself, you won't get rows 1-4.

Have been upgraded for free to Stretch @ 24 hr check in window several times, no problems. Mostly flights from the W. Coast to DEN, and it was nice. Only recent issues w/ F9 were booking a flight on Midwest website using F9 metal. No check-in avail on either site, but got upgraded to stretch @ airport too. Nice!

Think this is worth a try? I'm Summit. Wife and I are flying to FFL on Thursday on two different PRN award tickets. The flight is Extremely booked according to reservaqtions.

So even middle seat Stretch will be used. If I call in T-24 and get my Stretch, do you think I can ask to see if a Supervisor will override a non-Summit for Stretch to sit with me? Or should I wait to try at the airport or both? WE have exit rows, so no biggie.. it's ironic when we were swept out of row 4 at Stretch seating announcement, the wife was left in her middle seat and I was kicked back... Obviously, i had o move were back as someone might have bought the a seat next to me. Turns outonly one person in Stretch asof Sunday before flight.
It looks real lite on Summit and Ascent as only 10 seats total are shown occupied.

I flew stretch from ATL to DEN and DEN to ATL. I liked getting my favorite seat, 2C, on both legs but I'm not sure it's worth $25 each way. I only fly frontier 1-2 times a year to visit family in Albuquerque so I doubt I'll have status anytime soon.

The extra leg room wasn't even that great. I'm 5'9", I didn't use any of it. And I still had to pay $50 to check 2 bags on the way back, plus $6 each way for TV....that should be thrown in for Stretch, even if it meant it costs a little more.

You could have gone with the Classic Plus ticket which includes Stretch, 2 bags, and TV and would have given you a 50% mileage bonus. Probably would have been more economical that way.

I paid the $25 for the stretch seating on a recent flight from Denver to Vegas, and it might have been worth the extra $$ if the flight attendant had not insisted that, due to the lack of overhead space, the folks in the bulkhead just go ahead and place their belongings (purses, laptops, small carry-ons) under the seats they were sitting in (in other words, in my footspace since I was in row 2). So much for that "extra legroom".

Even when questioned about this rather unusual policy by some upset STRETCH passengers, the FA just shrugged and admitted that "yes, TECHNICALLY, it is your footspace, but I need them stow their belongings in that space anyway."

Definitely won't be wasting my money on that product anymore.
