Eiffel Tower dining
We are going to Paris Thursday for a long weekend. I cannot get reservations at the Jules Verne Restaurant for dinner. Should I try Altitude 95? I can't seem to find any information about this restaurant. Thanks for any information.

Try it, but I suspect the results will be the same. I tried two weeks ago to reserve for friends at the Eiffel Tower mid-Oct., and a direct call to reservations got me the information that they were booked solid for lunch through November. No wiggle room at all. I punched Altitude 95 Paris into Google and came up with a bunch of sites/reviews like this one:http://www.tour-eiffel.fr/teiffel/uk/pratique/resto/ However, several of the sites indicated that this restaurant was part of the events for all day bus/boat tours. That probably means hard to get reservations. The phone no is

I called and had no problem getting dinner reservations for any night this weekend at Altitude 95. I'm wondering if I should keep trying for the Jules Verne or if the Altitude 95 is OK. Thanks

It all depends on whether "the view" is more important than the meal.
Latitude is OK but in my opinion not much better than a sit-down cafeteria ( notice the fact that it is used as a lunch stop for tour groups)
If you are looking for a great meal and cannot get into Jules Verne would suggest you can try any of dozens of great restaurants in the general vicinity to name a few I have dined at: L Auberge Bessane, Au Pied de Fouet, La Fontaine de Mars and the more expensive places like Le Violin de Ingres or Arpage.
( the places I have listed IMHO are all better than Jules Verne, even and in some cases less expensive)

I'd also recommend going to zagat.com and checking out the 7th and 15th arrond. I think Jules Verne is overrated at a 22 for food.

We're back. We did eat at Altitude 95. The food was fine. Dinner, dessert, and a great bottle of wine was around $100. We had a seat by the window and saw a beautiful sunset. Dress was casual. Fun to do once. Thanks for the responses.
