Train strike and getting to BRU next week?
I am scheduled to take the TGV from CDG T2 to BRU next Wednesday, 29 March. I understand it is too early to know if trains will be operating that day and looking at other options. Or are the cross border trains not affected by the ongoing strikes? Just priced a one way car but with the drop off fee the cost would be around $1000 US!

If the strikes or protests are still going on, it will touch the international trains too. So many TGV Lyria were canceled these days between Switzerland and France. At this point, it seems they are reconducting strikes and protests next Tuesday March 29th, so expect delays and cancelations affecting trains the next day. Just make sure you have a plan B if you absolutely need to get to BRU that day. I hope you're not catching a flight, might consider even flying CDG-BRU as the strikes seem to touch CDG less than ORY.

The Thalys, Eurostar and Lyria are generally less affected by strikes. It is interesting to note that even through the number of protestors has gone up in recent days, the number of strikers has gone down.

Were supposed to go from Luxembourg to Paris in a week and a half via TGV, Paris for 3 days, then Eurostar to London. Very concerned about the Paris part of the trip - either losing a day being able to be where we need to be due to another strike after we arrive in Paris, or having the train to Paris canceled in the first place. We have prepaid stuff in Paris already.
Im following more closely again after the developments today. I did notice that when the protests first started, many Luxembourg to Paris trains had been canceled, but less effected more recently. I suspect theyll stop again Tuesday. How well end up then is anyones guess at this point.
Ive got a backup hotel booked in Brussels, so can go there from LUX if need be - also have a backup refundable award flight (UA miles on SN) to get to London, so would just need the Lux to Brussels train which I think is easy since there are no reservations and they seem to go practically hourly. Dont want to have to use that, but have it there in case. If Paris doesnt work - will go to Brussels (and maybe Brugge as well).
