No, green card holders are exempt (but cannot leave the transit area without a Schengen Visa): http://www.consulfrance-washington.o...php?article383

I have a similar question regarding visa requirements. I am an Indian passport holder traveling from YYZ to LHR via CDG. Currently I have an 8 hour layover in CDG and I was wondering if it would be possible for me to leave the airport for a few hours to see the city. I have a study permit for Canada which places me under the "temporary resident" category if that makes any difference? Do I need a French visa to leave the airport?

According to the foreign affairs website, if you are able to stay in the non-Schengen area, you do not need an airport transit visa. (category 2.2, if I am not wrong).

So if I am understanding the website above and also what is stated on the French Consulate website: I do not require and Airport Transit Visa in the Schenegan Zone.

I've transited through CDG before but have always remained in the terminal so this is my first time going through this process so please bear with me. If I am understanding this correctly, I will be able to exit the airport during my layover as long as I show my Landed Immigrant papers for Canada?

That is my understanding too, I am a citizen of India, holding a study permit for Canada.

Please advise if I am overlooking anything.

First, do you have a "residence document" or a "visa". When I studied in Montreal, I understood that a study permit is not a visa or a residence document. Because, aside your permit, I needed a visa, but as I am French, I have one upon arrival.

Then, you are not allowed to leave the international area of CDG. You need to transfer from T1 to T2 with an airside shuttle.

Edit: If you are not sure, you should give a call to the nearest French consulate.
