Imagine if one ultra-rich realized they still have to pay for perferred seating on a business class ticket at check-in.

I guess I'm concerned because I've heard two separate first-hand accounts of carry-ons being weighed in OUL within the last two weeks. Not that I would fly to or from OUL much, but I doubt it would be an independent decision by the OUL crew to start enforcing the rules.
Weight enforcement will be tough because I only bring the bare minimum workwise and it's still up there. And no time to check bags or lose them at transfer points, and all the content is either fragile or my meds... From Facebook comments: "Finnair 100 – is that the price of a checked bag?" |
Partner award changes?
Are there changes to partner awards (AA, JL, etc?)

Went to pick up BP from the desk and was asked to put my carry-on on the scales. I complied after removing the heavy laptop backpack from the top of it.. Asked about why they weighted the bag and he said it was new instructions from Finnair. I shut up and just kept wondering myself how on earth it would work with the scales at the check-in, but just a few travellers stopping by there nowadays... |
Reportedly, they have hand scales at the gate now.

Does anyone know if oneworld Emerald/Sapphire will also be able to take a carry-on for free on Superlight fares? The press release mentions Finnair Plus tier members but does not reference oneworld elites. Given how stingy AY has become, I'm not hopeful...

Let‘s see about the implementation. |
Can we officially declare AY to be a true LCC now?

I think AY is shooting themselves in the foot by adding more cost to the award flights. I'm guessing that the implementation work of adding the logic to IT bits and parts wasn't free work either and I will be quite sure that people will not be booking more award flights with a such complicated pricing structure for Regular Jane and Joe

Oh well, at least the Burger King takeaway paper bag should still fit within the permitted small bag measurements of 40x30x15 cm (which btw volumewise are less than what Ryanair permits passengers to bring into the plane for free).
