Should we interpret this as:
- new J seats on A333
- PE on A333
- longhaul flagship aircraft in future is A333
Let's see what will happen with TYO and PVG.

Yeah, what I meant by flagship is that they would assign A333 on their most important routes because of the new interiors. We'll see. Of course, it depends on the number of J seats, too. In normal times, I suppose TYO and PVG should be among the most important routes.

We don’t know yet if PE will take some Y seats away or is AY just using current J cabin to fit both PE and J. In an A350 it would make sense to replace the current Y+ seats with PE. On an A333, time will tell. This of course affects the routes the ”new” planes are used.

TBH, considering that pilot project is usually most complicated and time-consuming, it makes sense that they would do A333 first. Later conversions will be much faster.

My bet goes to OH-LTM thru LTR getting PE to replace the J mini-cabin.

Confirmed so far:
(1) "We are introducing Premium Economy as a new travel class in 2022 - and an elevated long-haul travel experience with Finnair. We will tell more in January. Stay tuned and follow our channels for more information in January."

(3) And their brand guide also shows that dark blue is going to be the ''brand color'' for Premium Economy

Bonus:
(4) "Business travel may not recover to pre-pandemic levels as e.g. online meetings are popular and many companies are seeking cost savings. What kind of impact will this have on Finnair?
As we have already stated, Finnair is mainly a leisure-driven airline. Pre-pandemic, only c. 20% of our passengers were business-related and they generated c. 30% of our passenger revenue.
Even though it is likely that business travel will not recover as fast as leisure travel in the coming years, we believe that there is increasing demand for premium leisure travel. We are about to introduce our new travel class Premium Economy during 2022 to meet this demand. "

I find this surprisingly little. 80 % of pax travel for leisure. Take into account that many business travellers are forced to sit in Y. This partially explains why the J soft product has deteriorated so much. J is not of much importance for AY.

Do they assume based on booking engine, i.e. all bookings through travel agent tools are business and the rest are leisure?

PE might actually do J some good. Their PE catering must be above Y, and as J is currently far too "sustainable", they'll have to improve J catering, otherwise J and PE will be virtually the same.

80/20 split on leisure/business is normal simply due to the ratio of seats offered. 30/70 split on revenue... could be plausible. But remember the profitability of premium cabins. The seats in the back pay for the fuel, the ones in the front pay the management bonus...
