BA does not have a procedure, and likely neither AY. You could use ExpertFlyer. I'm not sure if alerts can be used in the free version, though.

Do you guys know if AY has a process of actively informing passangers about equipment change (other than the A350 is delayed, so you'll fly something else "campaign" they had last year)? Cause if they do, they've failed on it miserably.
The other week when starting my trip to SIN, my first flight was AY operated HEL-LHR. I've booked the emergency exit row aisle seat well in advance, as with my height that is more or less the only comfortable seat on AY's A32X fleet. There had been an equipment change from A320 to A321 after my OLCI but my exit row seat remained. Of course it is a different story on changing to smaller aircraft where the number of exit row seat goes down too.

I guess this topic would be the best suited for my question...

There is some errors on AY check-in though, be careful. For example, just recent A320 flight I almost made an amateurish slip. I had forgotten to pre-select my seat and during App OLCI I saw exit rows marked 11&12 equally. Row 11 was all occupied, only row 12 left which I chose. Then something started ticking in my head that something is not quite right. I went onto my computer to check the seatmap on AY webpage and there it showed correctly row 11 only as XL, not row 12, so there was a discrepancy between web-based and App-based check-in. The truth is that both 11&12 are exit rows, but row 12 has only a tad more legroom, while it is the row 12 you need to pick as it has the "bigger" extra legroom on A320.
The story ended nice though. Once at check-in counter, I went to inquire if there is some exit row seat freed by any chance. "sir, you have an exit row seat". -No, it shows incorrectly, it is not really XL seat I want, but I know row 11 is an XL row". -"No sir, my computer says row 11 is exit row". -OK do you see if there is a seat for me on row 11, preferably A?". -"Yes sir I can change you there".
So she changed my row 12A (B&C were empty) into row 11 which I saw occupied on App, so I don't know if she finally trumped someone out from that row. Once entering the plane, I sat alone on row 11 and the row 12 was fully occupied instead. Go figure
