Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

2018 and earlier promotions

AY+ members can now book European flights with somewhat lower prices than normally. But the more interesting thing (for me) is the promotion that allows upgrading to biz within Europe with half points, i.e. 3500 in Northern Europe and 5000 other European routes. This is a promotion I like.

I think the upgrade with 50% points -promotion has been there for the last couple of summers, IIRC.

It's a good promotion, agreed!

It's under new summer prices, launched this morning Finnish time. You have to log in.

Only ex-HEL, and only from Finnair's finnish site, as far as I can see?

It seems to be, but it is a bit difficult to find. Switch to the Finland version of the site, then look for "Summer prices" on the main page, afterwards click on the "Finnair Plus Members' Benefits". It is actually accessible without logging in. I do not know the exact terms since the page is so vauge on the details.

I might be tempted to use the sum on my mother's AY+ account to upgrade the BUD-HEL leg of my BUD-HEL-BKK-SYD journey in November, but I'm not sure if it's worth the points.

I just cannot get there...

I have been clicking back and forth but cannot find it..it's so well hidden that this makes me wonder...also why didn't they send email comms like in the previous years..

They're your mom's, not yours - so definitely worth it

If your mom has a bit bigger pile, for 20€ customer service can transfer it to your account.

I frequently use family members' points in a dictatorial way

If upgrade is not worth it to someone I'm not sure if FT is the correct place to hang around...

Smart campaign and clearly targeting those who fly for work (higher booking classes) and/or longhaul with AY anyway.

I am curious why do you think so. On AY even the lowest booking classes are upgradeable (I've just indeed done so) and this promo is for shorthaul intra-European flight.
