Question Loose EK routing rules using AS miles (outed by blog)

Recently I came across this article and found it puzzled on how he found a "loophole" to route to DXB "THREE TIMES!". His route looks like IAH-DXB.....

*I'm deleting this post due to two FT member's requests. However I think this article has been published on a well known website so the "damage" may have already done. Book away while you can.*

But what was the trick/loophole? Was AS allowing transit THROUGH all regions as long as DESTINATION was permitted? Meaning EK could legally touch Australia?

The exercise is left to the student, as they say. And you can probably figure out why if someone in a sandpit suddenly saw a swarm of eskimos moving across the ice floes that involved boomerangs and kangaroos, but didn't involve going all the way for chili crab when they were supposed to... this probably wouldn't be a good thing for obvious reasons.

That seems like a really bad idea to post that info. I wasn't aware of it, but of course now no one will be able to use it. Probably will have other consequences as well.

Crazy routing, and definitely having BI publish the details AND call the airline to confirm the routing is the best way to kill it. With that said, I could never imagine myself flying that much non-stop, even if it is in First!

This ranks right up there with that idiot that called the DOT when he was denied boarding using a LifeMiles trick.

Looks like a publicity grab to promote his new "online business" blog that I won't name.

Talk about throwing the whole community under the bus for personal gain. Sigh....

Enjoying my $700 Hennessey after a shower

It wouldnt be the first time - see post #2422.

Even the worst of blogs held off with this one though. It managed to survive for quite some time.

Your a smart Guy (except for the chase cars and triple backup itins) you can surely figure this out on your own. Oh and go fast and try to book before it dies. so sad people have to call.

You're better than this guy, at least you weren't dumb enough to post your itinerary with the full name and PNR visible.
