It's all click bait, all the time. Dude's been mailing it in for years now.

Gary published a post titled:
On Average, American Airlines Loses Bags 73% Of The Time They Fly That percentage came from the number of bags mishandled divided by the number of flights operated. Such a calculation is meaningless. If an airline had operated just one flight, on which two bags were mishandled, would that airline have "lost bags 200% of the time they fly"? What would that even mean? As another matter, mishandled bags are usually not lost. They are delivered by courier a day later. |

getting worse...and yet, bloggers just keep linking to this hideous clickbait nonsense smh:
"She Left Her Kids for a Taxi Driver in India and Faked a Kidnapping—GPS Tracked Her Down, Now He’s Facing Charges" |
His "thought leadership" consists of him whining about the decline of long-haul First Class and how if airlines brought it back, made it even more exclusive / fancy, and gave it away at high discounts more frequently as saver award tickets, those airlines would magically wind up being more profitable

I get nuggets of useful information from Gary's blog. A week or so back, he suggested applying for the Chase Ink Unlimited. It has no annual fee, you get 90K Ultimate Reward points, and it requires a $6K spend in 3 months. We're not under 5/24 but I figured there was nothing to lose by trying. Today, my husband was approved. I would never have tried for the offer if it weren't for his post. In the end, I'm all about miles and points and I'd have several successes thanks to Gary calling opportunities to my attention. I can scan the titles and skip what appears to be drama content.

The truth is, he backed the wrong horses. Not just AA and SPG but his railings against revenue-based programs. As bad as it has been for FT frequenters, revenue-based was a logical, evolutionary development for these programs. And despite his occasional protests to the contrary, FF programs were simply modern-day Green Stamps. |
He'll back whatever gets him the m:ost $.

Bloggers only highlight 'offers' that earn them $$$ and they are not necessarily the best ones out there. ;) |
