http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea....r-with-hilton/ I get it from the context, I suppose, but I can't even get a hit in a slang dictionary for "super styling." Is this a common term? Did I miss some cultural event? So, what, does Gary imagine that Robertson and Holdren sold the concept to their respective boards of directors with the "hey we're super stylin' guys" business case? Goofy. |
Seems like Gary's got a real chip on his shoulder.
He's always reminding us that he's 41 (even though he looks 60 in his pics), he's doing a solid week of posting his FICO score, and he litters his posts with the cook kid sayings (BFF, super stylin'!). We get it: you're young and hep! Gary: I'd think a blogger should be made of sterner stuff. We all know, like Liberace, he's laughing all the way to the bank. |
Wow. I'm older than gleff?

The heads-up on AA business class space to Europe being wide open was really valuable to me, redeeming any time I've wasted reading VFTW over the past couple years. It's been perhaps 20 years since I've seen award availability like this for peak summer travel from the West Coast to Europe. The flights onward from London are currently the toughest part, but even those are pretty easy.
I finally get to unload some of my AA miles stash. |

Gary goes on Putin's propaganda channel and...mostly makes a lot of good sense. ^
Although his attempts at humor are painful. |

Because you make your profit on the "margins":
http://qz.com/533501/half-of-america...its-customers/ No, GTL, you make your profit from high-value customers. Most businesses understand that. It's one of the reasons guys who spend nothing in Vegas, get nothing. And the high rollers. . . Revenue based made sense from the point of view of the airlines. A good analyst of the airline industry would have intuited that a long time ago. GTL, however, knows this rains on his business. But it doesn't on AA's or any of the other airlines. |
Gary says AA's devaluation is YOUR fault. Because you didn't give them enough business for being more generous:
So it’s ‘your’ fault, the broad you of airline customers, that fail to reward a generous program enough to make it clearly worth the generosity to American. I’ll still fly American and earn top tier status with them, |

But don't expect him to punish AA for being less generous: <shaking head> |

And yet it's still my fault. I'm heading to confession in hopes of atonement. |
