Type of ticket: Economy upgraded J with miles

Flight was definitely full either in J and Y. I think at least 4 to 5 Pax bumped in F. Quite short night flight to appreciate service, but I surely enjoyed the upgrade.

After a less than pleasant lounge experience it was a much appreciated boost. On board and part way over India now where I thought wifi wouldn't work, but it appears it does.

I ruined my 100% success rate MNL-AUH last week by making the rookie error of having a child meal request in the booking for my daughter
Doing the same route next week, and assume normal service will resume.
They were +36 last week and I walked down fully expecting the normal "You'e been upgraded sir"

Flight from AMD to AUH was oversold and my boarding pass stated OS7. I pretty much assumed that I will be getting Op-Up. the magic beeps didn't happen at boarding.
My guess is some passengers chose to pay for an upgrade at check-in. On this route, its very unlikely.

I did about 40 flights as a Silver guest but never got an op-up. Since getting Gold status, this is my second op - up which has given me a good upgrade ratio. I have found it impossible to get more than ten minutes sleep in economy but slept very easily in J, especially after the very large whisky I was given!

Epic un-upgrade history continues
I'm obviously completely un-upgradeable. AUH-LHR today. Advised by checkin agent that the flight is heavily overbooked and that "there will be upgrades". On board, ground staff keep running on saying that the plane is completely full. However I, Platinum in a fully flex economy ticket, will be staying in economy. Hey ho.

Yes I did , on EY 402 AUH-BKK 29th may , just about guaranteed an upgrade on this flight . As I've said before , Etihad cut the 4 daily service down to 2 because of Ramadan , because Muslims don't travel. I've been upgraded on this flight pretty much every year for the last 8 years . I think there might have been 6 others who enjoyed the upgrade , both cabins were full , but on checking before I left LHR , there was still availability in J . Also an aircraft switch a week beforehand, to include first , might have pushed Y over the limit

Happy to report an op-up recently.
Upgrade Given: Y - J
Upgrade Location: Gate/Boarding
Route: BOM - AUH
Flight Number: EY 205
Date: November 7th
Type of ticket: Economy Saver
Tier Status: Gold
Pax on PNR: 1
Along with me, my cousin and sister (one gold, one platinum) also recieved op-ups at the gate. Given seats in rear business cabin on 77W (2 class) and the cabin was fairly empty. Forward cabin was more full for sure.
Flew on AUH - JFK after this. Extremely, extremely empty flight, no need for an op-up.

Someone recently suggested that they have changed their upgrading policy to be based on the fare class only. It didn't seem to be the case this November.
