This is why we can't have nice things.

Has anyone successfully booked flights on RAM? Looking for three biz tickets from C MN to IAD, once the route opens up.

On another note, I don't even know how to search for award availability on RAM? Does anyone know about them?

DSI Jan 30, 2016 8:49 am

EY sees zero availability on any route for the next year on RAM. Agent suggested calling back in a couple of days.

How's success been lately with AA redemptions? And specifically, does anyone know if availability is mapped to the MileSAAver or the AAnytime chart?

MileSAAver.

Also, good luck getting an AA booking. I've been trying for the last two days. If you're lucky you'll get the UK call center (if you don't get them at first just hang up call again)

And if you're even MORE lucky you'll get Simon from the UK call center. Good luck. But most people you talk to will be idiots

What's the problem? They don't know how to look for the award space, or calculate the taxes or have no idea what a partner award is whatsoever?

I agree, UK callcenter is the way to go with any partner awards, not just AA. If you hear arabic name/accept, HUCA.

All of the above, and then, they make up random ... rules that make no sense. One agent yesterday told me, you can only redeem Etihad miles for EY flights. Hang up. Between 5 & 10 ppl said (yes I've tried calling 15 times)

"it is point to point meaning you would pay the business class price 3 times" LOL hang up

I had ONE agent tell me he had availability on AA918 in business but no domestic availability, so I hung up and called again, but I regret that because I could have just paid cash for the remaining reservation but I should not have to do that. UGHHHHH I can't wait to be able to use these useless 44k miles and be done with Etihad.

It is ridiculous because on the date I need to fly there is 7 business class award seats available LIM to MIA

Mauibaby2008 Jan 31, 2016 8:52 am

Book awards on EY partner airlines

Oh my god right after my rant I found a UK call center agent who found availability for my entire reservation. Let's see if we can get it booked...

Fwiw, specifically, this agent said that she has to confirm availability, so whatever first basic step the call center agents are making is not sufficient

Update: "SEGMENT BY SEGMENT"

so my LIM to NYC in business / first (LIM-MIA-CLT-NYC) she is trying to charge me 80K miles (30K-25K-25K)- that is insane, and I have booked a prior flight, with two connections NYC to LIM - 17.5K miles.

I went ahead and booked the LIM to MIA leg in business for 30K miles. I would like if EtihadHelp here would reiterate what they previously posted here on FT: that you should NOT be charged segment by segment. Because I'm honestly exhausted fighting with people who have no idea what they are talking about

ZZ100 Jan 31, 2016 11:25 am

What on earth is the point of the AA redemption table giving prices for routes which AA obviously does not fly

e.g. Europe to Africa?!

koroleon Feb 6, 2016 5:04 am

I've seen some reports of people redeeming on Bangkok Airways so I'm led to believe this is possible. My question is, did anyone book one-way or open-jaw awards? The terms and conditions here http://www.etihadguest.com/en/spend-...ngkok-airways/ say that one-ways are permitted, but it doesn't say whether they require half the miles.
