Thumbs down EK First - Consistent Inconsistencies

Recently I flew EK First from NBO-DXB-CMB-DXB-NBO, and noted so many inconsistencies in their service, which was very disappointing. I have highlighted a few below:

NB0-DXB
* When I asked for a glass of champagne pre-flight, I was told they have stopped doing this, but had it offered on the next 3 flights.

* The CSD said that EK have never served salad in F, yet it was on the menu, there was salad dressing on the table, and one of the hostesses brought it out later.

* The CSD was very rude and abrupt. He did not want to be there doing his job.

*Pressing the service bell 5 times in 10 minutes and no service, so I went to the galley. CSD is chatting to a hostess, and what looked like two EK staff off duty in the galley chatting to the third hostess, with champagne glasses in hand.

DXB-CMB

* No duty free. I was told EK have stopped carrying on board duty free, yet the book was there.

* The trolley was brought out, and tables set from the trolley.

* Dining was on demand according to the menu, yet all meals were platted seat side.

CMB - DXB

* No Duty free. The excuse was that on the CMB flights, it gets stolen in CMB.

* Dining was no longer on demand, but we were offered when we wanted to dine as we were the only two passengers in F.

* This was an overnight flight, but there were no amenity bags, as they are only offered on flights longer then 5 hours (yet they are given ex. NBO).

* No duvets - These are only on long haul flights, yet we had them on all the other 3 flights.

*Being told that my red eyes were caused by drinking 6 glasses of champagne. Forget that I had an eye infection.

DXB - NBO

*No slippers or eye shades. They handed out ones from Y class.

*No blankets or duvets

*Dine on demand - we either eat now, or wait till all the other passengers are served, and only then will our order be taken.

I am really wondering what has happened to EK.

At DXB Airport, I walked up to the First Class Check in counter, and was told by the EK staff member that the counter was for F passengers only. How rude!!!

The EK F lounge in DXB is still great. Service is excellent, and food/drink choice is brilliant. Only the external noise is annoying.

Ex. NBO there is not a huge amount of choice, so we are stuck with EK

That's pretty bad what you've experienced there.
I like your thread title; it does reflect what you get in F on EK, sadly.

Fiction

The funniest fiction i ever read.
Crew told you there is no duty free, but there was; crew told you there is no salad, but there was; crew told you there is no xxx, but there was; crew ignored you 5 times in F!
i am really curious to know the truth, why on four different flight, crew will make such a fun of F class passenger

So, you're saying the OP is lying because he posted something negative about EK? What reason do you have to doubt him?

All 20 (wow!) of your posts seem to be in response to critisism of EK in some way.

Dude. If u have a look at all my other ek posts, I only fly EK first. Just happened that on 4 flights I had issues. I was also given 2 free night at The Address, and that is another storey and a half.

EK have had massive drops in standards in F recently while their pricing can be compared with the likes of BA, QF, SQ, CX, etc. They need to justify price with product and service.

You are certainly not alone about receiving BAD service at the address! Also i agree about the inconsistencies with EK First, but on the whole enjoy the product and the crew - although, like any airline, I tend to think it's the crew that make it a good or bad service!

may be on the problems is caused by the fact the best crew are being hand picked to work on the A380s - they then disappear from working on the rest of the fleet.

I think that there was another thread recently on here describing people's woes at The Address. I can recommend a free stopover at Park Hyatt - a great hotel on Dubai Creek. It's available ex UK airports at least.

Can confirm that there are no DUVETS on short haul flights in EK F. This has always been the case although I do not understand why they choose to do so. SQ will provide a Givenchy one in F on any flight no matter what the duration of the flight.

Must say that the OP has had a very very bad 4 flights and he/she must complain no matter what because this is just not done even by EK standards. I am sure that the EK management will not take this lightly because inconsistencies can be there but not like this. This is rock bottom already and must not go without being reported.

Safe Flying

I've had a flight (DXB-DAM) in F on a 772, and it had duvets for every seat (even though there was only 2 passengers).

That is some funny sh*t!
Nice to know they were attentive enough to count how many glasses of Dom you'd consumed, if only they had invested as much enthusiasm in the rest of the service!

Doesn't sound like the best experience there.... just as I am thinking of doing the exact same route ( but in the reverse direction).

Flew in F from JFK to Dubai on sunday night. The FAs definitely were friendly and tried their best - yet, I got the impression that this particular crew didn't have enough experience as yet ........ usually on the JFK route the crew have always been top notch!

Yet - I did some internal flying within the USA on my recent trip. Delta/Continental/US Air. Delta in particular stinks big time. Huge drama just getting onto the JFK flight. They are so pathetic ........ that I have nothing to complain about EK .........
