The date is 30th September, not sure if they are the first or the last of the trials. I wquld hazard a guess that T3 will open end October early November.

According to Arabian Business, quoting Dubai Airports, terminal 3 is scheduled to open October 14. The opening will be done in 4 phases.

Terminal transit question
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if you can walk (or otherwise transit) between the old and new terminals whilst remaining airside?
(Reason for asking is that I transit Dubai (10hrs) in early November and am booked into the hotel in the departures lounge (my company didn't believe that Emirates would give me a free hotel ... suits me as it saves the hassles of immigration etc!!!). Early Nov would appear to be a grey area as to whether or not individual flights will have moved across so am really unsure what to do about my hotel booking)
cheers

It's only about 8 weeks away and I guess lots of pax would like to know if they
will have the joys of the new terminal?

It was confirmed that T3 opens on the 14th October. Initially the terminal will service the USA and GCC routes only. The trial was nothing amazing couldn't get in to any of the lounges which was a pity. The terminal itself is enormous, some of the DF shops were stocked but not open. The seating outside of the departure gate area is limited. Passport control was difficult to judge. The email and first and business class fast track gates are to the left of immigration. Not sure what Emirates will learn for the exercise, it seemed to be more of a PR exercise.
