Y/J/F?
EK432/433 77W has the latest seating in Y so you get the nice big screens in economy. Rows 46/47 AB/JK are good at the back of the plane however. If you are in J get in row 6/7 again in A/B/J/K |
flying in J DXB-LHR on the 380 and only window seat available is 23a.
Seta Guru says it is very private but concerned about the proximity to the bar. Anyone had any experience of the bar side of the bulkhead seats in J, is it noisey. |
I just travelled from DXB to JFK by EK201 in seat 23 K. The seat was good and no noise from the bar. The only problem is the flight attendants do not appear even when the bell is pressed for at least half an hour. You will be disturbed on the first hour by people picking up magazine which is on the bulkhead.

hello :)
my husband and I are travelling ecomomy with 3 children Birmingham- dubai- j'burg. The booking confirmation says it will be on a 777-300ER I rang to make sure we are getting a bassinet, and also got the seat numbers. They told me we definitely have a bassinet, which is a big relief! For 2 of the flights we are 23D 23E 23F 23G which I was told is the row directly behind the bulkhead, and the bassinet will be in front of us. for the 2 other flights the seats are 17G 17H 17K 17J Apparently my husband and 2 of the kids will be on the side with a window seat and I will be sitting in the middle row with other mothers with bassinets. My question is this, on the phone they told me row 17 is also behind a bulkhead, but in seating plans I have seen its just in the middle of a block. I'm wondering where the bassinet will be and if we will have the extra legroom of being next to the bulk head or not? Please can anyone clear this up for us? thank you! |
best seats on Boeing 777-200LR
Hello,
I am new to this forum and this is my first post, so please be gentle...:) I am flying Houston - Dubai - Bangalore towards the end of Novemver. The first leg of the journey from Houston - Dubai is on a EK 212 - Boeing 777-200LR. The second leg of the journey Dubai - Bangalore is on A Ek 568 - Airbus A330-200. The seats I have on these flights are 27K and 26A respectively. For the return journey, for the first leg of the journey from Bangalore to Dubai is on a EK 569 - Airbus Industrie A330-200 and the second leg of the journey from Dubai to Houston is on a EK 211 - Boeing 777-200LR. The seats I have on these flights are 26K and 27A respectively. Can anyone tell me whether these seats are good? If not, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. On a seperate topic, I have an economy class e-ticket and I do not see the code - L or V ect on the ticket anywhere. Where can I find this code? Also, when I booked the ticket, 3 months ago, the tickets were very expensive - I paid around 2K. But they have gone down recently. Is there any chance of an upgrade on account of this? Also, what chances does one have of a free upgrade on these flights? I am pregnant and have a bad back (i know that this is one of the classic excuse :) but mine is genuine:(. I visit a chiropractor 4 times a week due to this. Any tips/ideas/suggestions on how to increase my chances of a free upgrade? Thanks in advance. |
You won't get anything back for the prices going down. This is due in part to the oil prices reducing. Airlines don't try and charge you the extra when prices go up, so they won't give anything back when they go down.
As for the upgrade - very unlikely. The priority will be given to Emirates frequent flyers (Golds & Silvers). If you are going to be *that* uncomfortable, you should pay for business class :D Cheers, Rick |

As far as I know you cannot use miles for one-way upgrades on Emirates, only returns. On the Skyways section of the Emirates website there is a mileage calculator that enables you to calculate miles earned and miles needed for upgrades/purchases.
Go to skywards.com to check out how much miles you need |
On Emirates you can upgrade per sector. So on a LHR - DXB - SYD, SYD - DXB - LHR you can upgrade LHR - DXB, DXB - SYD etc.
You can use the mileage calculator at : - http://www.skywards.com/Mileage_Calculator.aspx A one-way upgrade from Economy to Business is 45,000 miles for IAH - DXB, IAH - BLR is 55,000 miles and BLR - DXB is 20,000. |
my question still stands... any help?

Special Meals on EK J Class: worth trying?
Does anyone has any advice/comment on EK's special meals on J class? I'm thinking about ordering a seafood meal out from Dubai to London on a morning flight. What is it like? What will I most likely get? Had a rather bad experience on AF's J Class SFML (on their old LHR-LAX route) - they served the same food (overcooked salmon) twice for both dinner and snack! Will I get the same on EK?
What about their Oriental meal? What does that actually mean (except it's going to be chicken/seafood)? How about the quality of special meals out from Cape Town? Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated! |
