The funds have been returned to my account, in just 30 hours after I canceled the reservation, which was impressively fast. However, I’m still awaiting clarification regarding the cancellation penalty that was deducted
Beyond the automatic acknowledgment, we have heard nothing since submitting our refund request 8 days ago. Hopefully we’ll hear something soon. It was a substantial amount for 2 business class returns to Australia. |

Thanks for the update. I hope you get all of the fees returned soon.

2 emails received overnight (one per passenger) confirming refunds of the full amount. Nothing has hit the credit card yet but I didn't expect that to be immediate.

I'm due to travel from Europe to Asia mid-May. This is a group booking for 60 pax, purchased through a TA. Non-reimbursable tickets. I'd like to discuss options to change tickets to another airline, but the TA says we need to wait until mid-April. I assume they wait for Emirates to publish an extended travel waiver.
Obviously, as it is a large group, I'd like to deal with ticket change as early as possible to find available alternatives. Any thought about the possibility to have our tickets reimbursed or changed as early as now? |

Update from EK today:
|
I put in my application for an INVOL Refund on 21/3. On 28/3 I got an e-mail informing me that my application has been processed and the fare in full is being refunded. I just checked my bank account and it arrived yesterday, 2 days after their recent e-mail.
The money reached my account the same day I was due to jet off from London STN to AKL, via DXB. What a coincidence. I was sooo looking forward to stepping on board and immersing myself in the comforts of an F cabin. Many thanks to those lovely folk at EK who've worked so hard in such testing and trying conditions. We all look forward to the day when this dreadful situation ends and we can fully appreciate the hospitality Emirates offers. Also a big "Thank you" to all you fellow F/Talkers who've offered advice and kept each and every one of us informed. Your help has been very much appreciated. |
SQ canceled my flights to and from Dubai for May. I have tickets from Dubai onward to Tel Aviv and back with flyDubai. Does anyone have any experience or have seen any threads regarding flyDubai refunds?

My friend is participating in the Boston Marathon on Monday 20 April. She booked EK J SIN - DXB - BOS. However, given the safety issues she is not comfortable to travel EK and had hoped to be able to take advantage of EK's waiver policy for refunds.
She did get a refund but with S$500 deducted. Apparently, this is an administration fee because the flights are going via a "safe corridor". Has anyone heard of this administration fee deduction ? I have told her that she should submit another refund claim for the S$500. She has rebooked on JL at the prevailing (higher) fares. |

When did she cancel? The $500 sounds like a cancellation fee.
The cut off was previously 15th April for free cancellations. It's now 30 April. "Less Refund Charges: S$486.20" I've suggested to her to request the refund for the S$486.20 given the current policy. |

She did it two weeks ago so probably caught out by the timing.

"Please note that if you booked for travel between 28 February until and including 30 April 2026 and have requested for a refund or cancellation of your ticket, you will receive a full refund for your unused ticket. If refund charges have been applied for travel within this period, we kindly ask you to resubmit your refund request at your earliest convenience. Once received, we will ensure that your case is reviewed promptly and that any applicable refund is processed accordingly." |
Good to hear people getting refunds. We are just back from our alternative holiday and checked the bank and Emirates has refunded all seat bookings in full as well as the flights in full before.
